The part where you would come in, in the imaginary universe where these libraries were romable/loadmoduleable, Early Startup Screen and lets say dos.library (probably more) were patched/rebuilt to come up on boot after restart on the RTG display.

Or maybe an achievable goal would be an after-boot version of Early Startup Screen that could be run in Workbench to select boot device, no startup-sequence and so on.

I don't know how OS4 does it, but on Classic I thought it was possible to get to the OS4 early startup screen on the Voodoo.

*Mods sorry this should have gone in the AmigaOS 3.1.4 successor wishlist.*
I think they'd rather people just use the Startup-Sequence and loadmodule.

One potential workaround may be to have a small 'boot' partition which can load the modules using a basic startup-sequence which then reboots using bootctrl, I haven't tested to see if it allows access to the early startup menu though.

This is what I was suggesting some time ago, but I made the mistake of referring to the A3000 superkick as inspiration so the idea was shot down as totally sucky! :-D (ok, there were some technical problems too, such as exec.library replacement)

Lesson learned: I need to communicate in simple terms only the core of my ideas so that there is no chance to conveniently misunderstand me and dismiss my ideas.

There is plans to add user configurable ROM module (also BlizKick module) support to ACA500plus. 1M of flash space is still reserved for this feature but nothing has happened yet.. It will be independent of already existing user ROM image support.

Agreed

Hopefully whatever announcement / news Thomas was prepared to make still occurs after 10 days of build-up.

I was trying to be respectful and give them time to cross post, which I did, but I agree with you, so:

from Thomas

Maybe that's why Thomas stopped the counter?

Yes, but to be honest, it doesn't really bother me as I have no need for 3.1.4 in emulation.

Saying that, I do / can appreciate the work that Thomas / team have done though
