We can talk about it more after you have bought it / finished with it. Obviously if I manage to find a copy in the mean time, I probably won't be needing it. :o) Thanks! |

Dragons Breath
Just to keep everyone informed about Dragons Breath.
It is almost 100%, I just have to figure a way of patching the final protection check on disk 2. I have had to crack this game in a very obscure way, and at the moment the game will NOT operate on AGA machines because I have cracked it without touching ANY files Of course I will remove the self modifying encryption on the boot file for a final release, but I want to get the game working so that it can be playtested on a REAL A5oo, then I can worry about other issues (AGA, WinUAE, etc) Once I have patched the last check, a couple of people wanted to playtest the game which is fine by me. The deal is NOONE spreads any of my versions until I am done... quite simply if anyone does then I will cease work on it and if that means abandoning it when its 99% there, then so be it.... I do NOT want a half finished version appearing on TOSEC only for me to have to update it and make me look fucking lame! I only want offers of help from owners of A5oo or other 68000 OCS Amiga's. Hmmmm
If I don't remove the self modifying encryption then the AGA machines cannot run it, and in its present form, I doubt it would work on WinUAE either!

I never quite got that one. I know you talked about it a bit but I never really got the conclusion right. An A500 with a 512 kb expansion (1 MB total), would that be considered an ECS or OCS machine?

But I think his point is that if your chipram is only 512k,then it has to be OCS. 1 meg of chipram typically suggests ECS (even without the enhanced Denise), even if that's not a 100% accurate ECS config. I never had any ECS incompatibility.
And for the record, some clarifications (and corrections) are in order. The Gary remained the same in OCS and ECS. The function of the Gary was for controlling the bus access and for reading floppy disks. The changes from OCS to ECS chipsets were Denise (8372)>Super Denise (8374) and Agnus>Fat Agnus (or Fat Agnus>Fatter Agnus, depending on who you're talking to...) |

To continue in this wonderous (or is it) thread.
Looking around WHDLOAD.de looking throuth the works in progress, and it lists Dragons Breath as "Dragons Breath (Palace), 30% complete (Copy Protection Removed) 25.8.2002 " Maybe the author of the WHDload patch can be contacted ?gldflt#blueyonder.co.uk replace # with @. is this our belovedGalahad/FLT ? |

I believe Galahad has mentioned elsewhere that he is trying to ready the ADF version (and maybe WHD) for a Christmas gift to the Amiga community. We must have patience (and gratitude!)

That is great news. Now I can add it to my massive Amiga DVD collection when it's done
