The only thing I noticed in my real Amiga is that the IDEFix express that I have installed seems to not be working. I don't get the speed boost in disk access that I had in 3.1.4
Edit: False alarm, it was the icon library of OS3.2 that is slower than the PeterK icon.library that gave me that impression. Last edited by samplist; 03 July 2021 at 11:29. |

What speeds were you getting in 3.1.4 and what in 3.2? And presumably you were running the idefix software in both?

I'm not running any IDEFix software, would that improve the speed with the IEDFix Express adapter?

But, it is installed by BestWB on 3.1.4., and is part of ClassicWB, too (a very very old version). Last edited by PeterK; 03 July 2021 at 13:31. |

I never got the results I hoped for with the idefix express and am intending to fit a fastata in the near future. I have not got the software setup properly on the 3.2 clean setup I am using currently, and haven't bothered due to the impending fastata. I am currently getting just under 2mb/s per sysinfo, and previously the express adapter added about 0.7mb/s as I seem to remember getting 2.7. I tried running idefix just now in my startup but it then won't boot. Need to look into that if I get a moment. Not sure if its my idefix software or a 3.2 incompatibility. EDIT just popped my 3.9 based cf card back in and yes that is getting 2.7mb/s on the same hardware. I assumed I was running the idefix software but couldn't find it in my startup. Hmm. I am running a custom rom on this setup and using loadmule to load the speedyide module though. Last edited by crazyc; 05 July 2021 at 00:23. |

I'm saying that the default icon.library that comes with OS3.2 is slower than yours PeterK and that gave me the impression the IDEFix Express was not working.

I've updated BestClassicWB to v2.0.3.
This version removes the P96 and the P96 Native monitor driver, adds FBlit, FText, and PeterK's icon library. |

How are you finding the change in comparison? I am using the latest p96 with native driver on mine with PeterKs icon library largely because I will use this as a base for my towered a1200 later which has a mediator and graphics card etc, but I could revert to fblit etc on my AGA only setup.

I think the issue is where the old p96 is used with the native driver on AGA (not RTG) systems, as a replacement for FBLIT etc.
I am currently using the latest (paid for) p96 which seems ok. |

Ok I'm not sure this will fix anything for anyone else with the same issues as me, but...................
In WinUAE I noticed with another OS config when I used a certain display driver I got fucked up slow mouse point and major ghostyness. So I applied this logic to BestClassicWB v2.0 and I was right. I checked what driver was selected in the screen mode, it was Pal Hi Res interlaced. I changed this to normal Hi Res and albeit smaller screen etc but the lag went away and majoy gjost mouse pointer. So I think that was the issue there. Still no idea why Tiny Meter though was causing the CPU to go nuts. I wonder would this happen on real hardware? Anyways please someone else try the change of screen mode, that is if you were having the same issues as me with the slow mouse point and poor redraw. ***edit*** I thought PeterK's icon library was used before now? His icons where though right? Last edited by rabidgerry; 05 July 2021 at 17:32. |

I'm confused, where is the installer for BestClassicWB to v2.0.3.? It's just a bunch of files. Or are we supposed to cope this over the top or something like that?

Why are you using such a weird WinUAE configuration and then complain about this and that doesn't work flawless? Why a 060 CPU, no JIT, but MMU, no UAEGFX card? Why not a 020 CPU + JIT, fastest possible, no MMU, UAEGFX card, P96? If you use a 060, which 68060.library is installed and is the mmu.library also installed? I've no 060 problems without the MMU and the Phase5 68060.library 46.7 on WinUAE, or a 040 config with 68040.library v44.2, but usually I prefer a 68020 + 68882 setup, which never makes any problems. |

Also I'm hardly complaining. samplist made this script for everyone to use, I figured I would try it out as opposed to the lengthy process I went through building a 3.1.4.1 build from scratch not long ago. I'm just trying to utilize this cool package someone has kindly put together for the likes of me so if it doesn't work right in my hardware replicated WINAUE setup then I don't want to jump right in and use it on my hardware. Make sense? Ok since you ask. I use a 060 with MMU setup as I sometimes use my CF cards plugged into my PC. So if I make a HDF in WINUAE I'm planning on using it on actual hardware once I fine tune it. Building on previous configs I had used in the past I simply modified those to replicate the 060 setup I have in hardware. Where did I get the initial configs from? From a tutorial online that detailed a config that would be suitable for setting up CF cards to use in real hardware. What libraries am I using? The ones that came with OS3.2 bundle, what are they? Thors MMU Library. I copied the BCWB_Files from the new update and placed into the same folder as BestClassicWB v2.0.2, then ran the script and let it do the work for me Last edited by rabidgerry; 05 July 2021 at 19:44. |

Sorry, but I cannot reproduce any mouse pointer problems here with your WinUAE configuration, not even with the libraries from the MMU package. I can remember that I once had a problem with a slow mouse in WinUAE, which occurred with a certain combination of DirectDraw or D3D and the display settings (FullWindow or Fullscreen) and maybe scaling. That can depend on the PCs graphics driver. What do you mean by "ghostyness"? If the deficons are displayed ghosted (half transparent) by my icon.library, that's by design and you can disable it with my option "IconGhostingOff" from the icon.library package (in the /C drawer). Peter for the transparent mouse if you are using a very recent version of WinUAE the problem could be this:
