Back in the days, games that were good or bad were sold the same price in box, Monkey Island was not sold £99 because it was good reviewed

Back in the days things were a lot different weren't they. Professional publishing houses. Developers not reviewing their own games and rating them higher than other games.. etc etc etc. Also in the 90's developers and publisghers were not directly interacting with their customers, they were not directly able to influence them. Magazines often reviewed the games, and a lot would fail to sell because they were so rubbish! Nowadays, there are so few releases, it's easy to release any old shit, and people will just clamour to buy it.. Or if you're a collector just pay to have a 100% complete collection.. Fuck it.. I'm going to write a cheap, shit, wanky game.. Have a decent box made and flog it for £45.. The collectors will buy it wont they????? |

The problem is they count on collectors to buy them
But what for players only ? 10£ for digital is a maximum for me, good or bad game |

Sad for you. I had more fun with that game than any other game on any platform in long time. It is worth every penny I payed for it and more. I completed it but still play it from time to time. I bought many games on PC that was so called game of the year or whatever that I played maximum 2 times. That made me feel cheated. The world is a strange place issen't it.

The problem is they KNOW the collectors will buy them, and as such they are targeting collectors.. Do you not see that as an issue??
£10 is a fair price, and if it is shite, again it wont sell, so all good |

on ich.io they are really good games (some are bad too) for less than £15
Micro mages is 10€ for example Why it's not possible with digital release on Amiga? Collectors is the target? A shame because a game has to played by players before all ! |

In fact; I actually enjoyed the demo of "Reshoot R" a lot more than the final product. For me Worthy / Rygar: The Legendary Warrior / Powerglove and some others mentioned here in this thread are far more enjoyable games; and sold at reasonable / decent prices also |

It is not acceptable to post tidbits here and theb direct users to become a patreon for more info. It is not acceptable to review one's own game and score it highly, then score other games low. It is not acceptable to release a game tbat is pd quality for £35 and expect users to pay it just because of nostalgia! It is not acceptable to intentionally make a game, to sell at a higher price to a collector, just because the developer knows a collector is going to buy it to be 100%. The fact you're happy paying stupid prices for these games us your perogative, but it doesn't mean it is right does if? It also doesn't mean we cannot challenge these developers, and make the wider community aware. |

it's your personal experience but will all buyers get it for the price? Personnaly, i've bought No Man Sky 2 times One from GOG and one from Steam to have more players Online I've spend 100€ on that game, but for me it's ok, because i really like it I think a random guy don't want to pay it more than 30€ and it's a AAA game and they are right |
