Maybe the config file (.doomrc) is corrupt?

Well, it seems that the .doomrc file (the config file for those lamers like me who didn't previously know this) was being updated from WITHIN DoomAttack and adding a stoopid 6 character (or more) value for "mousebfire". Once I manually editted this back to 0 the crazy autofire stopped.

I have only tested it quickly but it seemed to get this crazy value when I tried to setup an AutoLoad from within the game.

Something I meant to ask way on way back... In the versions of DoomAttack I've acquired there are 3 versions if the engine; 1 for 020 processors, 1 for 040s and one for 060s. I know there's no point me running the 060 version with my ACA1230/56 equipped A1200 but should either the 020 or 040 version work better? They both seem to work but I can't see much difference??!!??

You should stick to the 020 version, the 040 version would have 040 instructions that won't play nice with your 030.

Thanks, Nova. So instruction wise is the 020 the same as the 030? I presume there's gotta be some explanation for a non 030 specific version.

Yep I think the only difference is that 030 has more cache than an 020.

Ah so no need for 030 code optimization then. Thanks for the info.
