Does https://www.winuae.net/files/b/winuae.7z (make sure it is dated today) work any better? (RTG<>native didn't always switch filters if native or rtg had different settings)

Looks like it does fix it, the same config boots up with no visual glitches now. Kiitos!

Beta 4:

- Exiting any GUI subwindow (hardfiles etc) was always cancelled, ignoring changes. (b3)
- Fixed DMS and other single disk image compressed disk image drag and drop. (b1)
- Add Harddrive still listed GPT drives if run without administrator privileges. (b1)
- D3D11 mode and different RTG/native/native interlaced D3D filter: filter was not always changed when mode was switched. (b1) *
- GUI control tree view: don't jump to root node when there is no more child nodes (dpad right)

*) this might also fix other previously reported weird behaviors when switching modes.

Seem to be having a problem loading a HDD image, all boots fine on 5.0.0 but not in beta 5.1.0b4. Any idea why this might be?

Nothing interesting in that log. Possibly ROM compatibility problem (does not seem to be standard KS ROM)
EDIT: try using different CPU options (no JIT etc) and without RTG. Maybe some clues can be found..

Turned off JIT no difference, turned JIT back on and disabled RTG and it boots, looks like RTG is the issue somewhere. No other configs suffer this problem apart from one other Amikit XE also no longer boots.

Does screen appear if you press END+F9 few times? There is a bug that can cause blank screen in some situations (fix in next beta).

Settings/Host/Sound/Floppy Drive Sound Emulation:
I have the additional drive sounds installed and want to set DF0: to 'LOUD' and DF1: to 'ST' but the per-drive settings do not stick. Instead all drives get the one selected sound file. The drive selector drop-down menu (DF0: DF1: ...) doesn't seem to have any effect.
Can anyone confirm that?

Beta 5:

- Screen mode switch (for example native<>RTG) could have caused blank screen, especially in D3D9 mode, if old and new mode had identical size. (b1)
- Restoring statefile without FPU when configuration with FPU was active: FPU was not disabled.
- Fixed random flickering last line in non-interlaced fields/fields+ modes.

Thank you for this.
It fixed my OS3.9 68060 RTG setup (D3D9).

I never got around to reporting it as I wasn't sure if it was an issue on my side.

A similar thing happens when you run the Matrix 1.9 screensaver from Olivier Fabre. I have to run Pointer Prefs and click use setting to get the pointer back. I did not notice this problem under WinUAE version 5.0 and lower.

Additionally, I noticed that when listening to CDDA music using PlayCD, from the mounted BIN/CUE image, there is silence for a second when I switch screens. I have not encountered such a situation in previous versions.

All of the above applies to Beta 2. I haven't checked Beta 1.
The problem with pointer still exists, but only under DirectX11. Also problem with listening to CDDA. I checked all versions of the whip for 5.1.

Lets start with screen switch delay if it always happens.

Paths panel click Full logging. Load your config. Boot, switch screens with CDDA active. Wait ~5 seconds. F12 -> Paths panel -> Save all. Attach (or email) the zip file. (contains both logs and config file)

Then do the same using official 5.0. Name both zip files clearly (include version number).

Cursor problem sounds like emulated hardware sprite disappears for some reason.

I am attaching files from versions 5.0 (31/05/2023) and 5.1 B5 (13/10/2023).

For example, I mounted a Quake 2 PC image that has audio tracks. Additionally, I discovered that version 5.1 hangs when mounting a ZIP with the Foundation game. Version 5.0 and earlier did not have this problem.
Attached Files
File Type: zip WinUAE_CDDA.zip (51.5 KB, 26 views)

Thanks. These are strange in 5.0

Which gets replaced with screen resets in 5.1..
Did you manually switch screens many times per second or what is happening here? (run in windowed mode with -log command line parameter to see the log in real time)

EDIT: Picasso96 version?

btw, does anything change if you change both Z3 RAM and VRAM to max 64M? Zip hang might be caused by 32-bit limits. (64-bit CPU + 32-bit WinUAE is fine, with 32-bit CPU address space limits can cause out of memory problems)

Yes, it's true that I changed the screen many times at once. And the P96 I use is 2.1c.
