What does that do really?
It fiddles a bit with frequencies and moves the image. Any invisible benefits? |

It boosts the frequencies to be a bit closer to what SVGA monitors expect. You might be able to use dblntsc on a monitor that didn't quite sync if you add it.

Just be careful when using this list I bought a RGB Adaptor and looking at the list I bought a "NEC 1770NX" to use on my Amiga as it`s on the list a working, comes up out of range Great monitor just does now work on the Amiga with a Adaptor.

Was that a purely passive adapter or one with buffer circuits inside? The passive ones does not work well with all monitors.

Is your adaptor one of the newer passive ones or a Commodore original with components inside?

I have recently found out that a monitor I had also works great for 15hz...
ASUS 24" LED FreeSync VG245Q Asus 27" LED FreeSync VG275Q (should work as well) The great thing with VG245Q is that it has both VGA and 2xHDMI and built in speakers. Sound works on both HDMI and minijack. So if you use a DVI->HDMI adapter and minijack sound that works fine too. Only thing I have found negative, is that to switch from 4:3 to 16:9 streched and back on VGA requiers certain resolutions, so connect something with 800x600 and set 4:3 or 16:9 as you like, and the VGA port will stay that way til you change it. Works great with DblPal on my Amiga, and it can view all resolutions I have thrown at it from the Amiga, including interlaced. |

Some inputs from me:
I got hold of a HP 2335 monitor, a beast from 2004. This is not on Appiah`s list, but I have seen it in another one, as well as mentions in forums. It did not work perfectly. On VGA, it did sync to 15,25khz with a reported resolution of 560x384. However the picture was very distorted. It changed every time the screen tried to auto-adjust, but it remained distorted and not usable. Then I tried on composite, as the monitor has that input. This worked very well! Strange thing; on composite the resolution was 664x273.. but picture was nice for composite. I tried on an Amiga 600, and only in games. No workbench resolutions tested. |

Thats normal if it works fine thru composite. But if it worked well on vga you would get better picture quality.

The Samsung 910MP did not seem to work for me with a Commodore RGB -> VGA adapter plugged into my A2000 or A500. Just shows an error that it is "not optimum mode."
Doesn't even work on the Kickstart "insert disk" screen. It might be on the list because it has a SCART port, where I am guessing it may work better? (Composite, of course, works OK - but not really what I was hoping for here) |

Updated the wiki with info on good settings for the Dell U2311H - to remove the vertical banding (I found this had some pronounced effects on the Lemmings title animation) you want a pixel clock of 90 and phase of 30, and you can optionally shift the horizontal position left to 20 to compensate. At least those are the settings for my A500, I don't know how variable it is from one unit to another. I'm using the ~£10 adapter from Amigakit.
So glad I splashed out on this monitor now! It was a while ago now but cost a fortune at the time and my only objective was a good quality IPS display for the PC. Never would have imagined it'd work with an Amiga. I also have an A1200 with an Indivision and the latter seems almost redundant now... |

The list states that Samsung SyncMaster 713N 17" should work, yet all I'm getting is the "Non Optimum Mode" floating around, when used with the RGB>VGA adapter :/
It shows the message on boot, then goes black for a sec while workbench loads and then the message comes up again. Changing WB resolutions made no difference. Anyone had better luck? Don't know now if should be trying with the 710N as I've read different opinions on that one too. |

Doesn't look too good -
Horizontal: 30-81 kHz, Vertical: 56-75 Hz https://www.manualslib.com/manual/14...page=46#manual |

Perhaps the 713N comes in different flavors where some will work and some will not. Since it is out of spec, you can never count 100% on it to work. |

Not sure now if I should gamble more with 710N (I could find those here for not much $), or go straight to benq BL702A... |

You never know - my older BenQ starts at 44 Hz which is really uncommon. But unfortunately it needs at least 24 kHz to sync. It's specced 30 - 82 kHz Multi- frequency monitor 56 - 76 Hz modes.
