I noticed one thing that might be a bug.
When you take the task to pick up the "pills" you have to make it to the finish line. The problem is that it seams you have to win, else you get notice that you did not complete the task?

edit: I guess it is not a bug.

There wasn't but I added one to the Delete key.

The text ends with "be first, like, floor it, like", so I'd assume you have to finish first in the race.

From the fps counter I get around 35. It is a little hard to see but it never go under 30. Most I seen is 38.
Pistorm32, Emu68 with Pi3a, AGA. No RTG.

This is not a bug, you must take the pills and win the race to get the "prize".

I've just found a post of mine on another thread were I was saying that I dreamed about Death Rally on Amiga (I actually wrongly thought that it would have been handled by an unexpanded A1200 but I'm just saying that this port is a dream that comes true!)

Pistorm32 with rpi4:
AGA : 35-47 fps
RTG: 58-66 fps

Very smooth in both cases.

Excuse me,what does follow is a very stupid and noobie
kind of question; but please forgive me because of
my not-totally-ok-working keyboard solution (he he):
What is the default Game quit key ?

Chip RAM bandwidth will probably be the bottleneck there.

I'm glad you've liked it! I've seen comments about how Death Rally should run on an unexpanded A1200, but that would only work if it was a 2D only game with a flat playfield. When you start to add perspective projected polygons and large sprites, you'll realize that the chipset alone won't cut it, at least not in 256 colors. There's also the issue of the game using the FPU, but you can fix that if you rewrite the whole game from scratch

Escape will bring up the confirmation dialog for quitting the game. To see the rest of the keys, you can press F1.

So now it got confirmed that my Esc key has
not been Esc key anymore... ;-)

Hi, a friend is trying to run it on a Vampire equipped A500+.
No AGA, no game.
Is there a switch to force the RTG mode?

RTG is the default as long as it's available, and the FORCEMODE tooltype is not set in the icon. You can try to check with a SnoopDos where does it fail.

I played this for most of yesterday, using emulated 060 on WinUAE and RTG and found no issues. Super Job!!

The only thing was the audio sound effects lagged by a whole second, but this was not a problem. The game seemed to play full speed, and smooth.

For the music, I notice the guy who recently converted Command and Conquer to the Amiga used a tool to convert the music to .WAV, and then from .WAV to .RAW. That means at least it is easy to play the music as a solid block of raw audio, rather than having to decode some encoded data.

Thanks! A whole second sounds like a lot, the game only has a 100 ms delay due to the large buffer size. This is probably some kind of configuration issue.
For the music koobo kindly offered to help, so we'll use PS3M most likely. This is the simplest solution, because for a single rendered sample you'd have to produce metadata containing the loop points for each subsong in the module and whatnot.

On a different note I uploaded a small fix for the choppy entering/leaving race animations.

Update:
The game loads with no supported resolution on the Vampire.
After the intro in the menu, everything is fine.
But in game no picture again.

The intro and gameplay uses 320x200 if that helps.

Hi BSzili,

Game runs well in terms of FPS on my TF1260 at 50MHz. Only issue I am currently having is that with me using an Indy Mk 3 for output via HDMI, the game is squished vertically and stretched horizontally so about 1/4 games screen is off the bottom of my TV :-/

I know this is probably the Indy Mk3, but do you have any advice? Is it a PAL or NTSC screen mode the game is using?

Regards
