I love this, thanks so much!
Using WHDLoad, wouldn't this bring OS flashes, though? |

Cheers Akira. Yes, there are OS flashes, it depends on the particular game though. Some flash a little, others flash a lot, some don't flash at all.

I would really like it if at some point these games could be patched to use a proper CD32 loader. I know it's another order of magnitude in terms of difficulty, but it would yield a level of experience worthy of what you'd expect from the console!
Some people did it, if I am not mistaken (those Turrican compilations spring to mind). But there are few of these. |

Nice work.
One question, why not use WHDLoad CD32? its designed to give you more RAM: Also freeanim will free up some more memory. |

@FOL thanks.
I am using WHDLoad CD32 (the non-CD32 version isn't free) (Edit: I can't remember why exactly but I renamed the executable for whdloadcd32 to just 'whdload' and I've been using that copy ever since, but it's definitely the CD32 version). I think freeanim only stops the CD32 animation, I'm using the CDTV trademark file which doesn't play the animation. Last edited by earok; 07 September 2014 at 12:17. |

Hello,
Really nice work for those who wants DVD cover arts and do not have burn the 800 games collection. But would not it be more interesting to adapt AGA games that never arrived on CD32 like Aladdin, Slam Tilt with a hiscore saving and a pad support, or the new Putty Squad (that was planned to be release on CD32 in 90's) ? It's just some exemples :-) |

Yes, but they are using WHDLoad slaves, so the RAM runs short and those games wouldn't run ![]() This is why I would love people actually working these games out onto a Rob Northern loader or something, so -actual ports- can be made. |

Yes, I know it is a problem.
But Slamtillt would be very interesting to adapt as it is a game fully installable on hard drive. It can be launched with a stock A1200 on HD (so with only 2Mb chipRAM). Secondly, on Aminet, you can find a patch to play the game with CD32 pad. I think something can be done starting with the game installed on HD, patched, then burn on auto-bootable CD for CD32. The real problem is that the high-score that shouldn't be saved without a NV-RAM support. But is it really disturbing nowadays ;-) Moreover, about saves : Is it possible to save your progress in All New World of Lemmings on CD32 ? The game is clearly unplayable if you can't save your progress :-/ |

I think Oh No More Lemmings JST might work better on 2mb with Lowmem parameter - Dont know how it will do on CD32. - let me know if you want it....

@iXien as Akira mentioned there simply isn't enough RAM for Aladdin or Putty Squad, SlamTilt however works quite nicely
![]() Unfortunately saving progress isn't possible on Lemmings 3. It might be possible to set it up to temporarily store save files on the RAM disk (I've done that for one or two other games) but it means you'll lose everything once you've restarted. @booboo I didn't even think about trying the JST version! If you have it please send it through. |

If saving progress isn't possible in All New World of Lemmings, where is the interest to play it on CD32 ?
Aladdin needs WHDLoad to be played without floppies, so we can forget it, yes. But when you install Putty Squad with WHDLoad, you can see all the files in the DATA directory. I'm sure it is possible to use these files with the help of Galahad to run it directly from CD without WHDLoad with only 2Mb RAM, just like from floppies, isn't it ? I clearly supposed it was not trivial to make it work. But as you said, this is the motivation that is lacking.
Everyone made with its capabilities (and I clearly don't have the capabilities to help), but it's just frustrating because what is interesting is not really to make work ECS games on CD32 but all the AGA games that never been released on it and take part of its capabilities... like Slam Tilt ;-) If someone has a downloadable ISO of SlamTilt to use on CD32, it should be very nice, even if not modified and need a keyboard :-) But thank you for your effort, it's nice to see a CDXL intro of Flashback ! Cute !!! |
