I thought that the ones which use the PC as a host always supported IPF? All it has to do is used the SPS .DLL in the same way an emulator would.

Shame SPS wont release the details for support in a stand alone version.

So his post about not selling kits was just a scare to see if anyone was interested?

Contacted Jean-Francois, got this reply:

A USB version of the board is still being produced and sold,

http://torlus.com/floppy/forum/viewt...er=asc&start=0

(by an associate)

And from himself, this quote:

"In fact the project is not "dead".
I continue to design the standalone version and adding new image file support (lately IPF and Pasti files)."

Great for floppy replacement in old platforms, would also be nice to have a USB to Amiga floppy interface to read in "hundreds of disks in the attic" or use in WinUAE (for originals etc).

IPF support? I would be amazed if he had been able to do it with no help from the SPS team.

Hiho!

I just got a PCB and a programmed CPLD and finished the board yesterday, works pretty good. Only bad thing: read-only

Interested in pictures and a short youtube-video?

btw.: is there an easy way to swap DF1 and DF0 on an A600 or A1200?
I want to put the board into an external drive and want to be able to boot even demos and protected games from it.

Send a message via MSN to dlfrsilver
maybe amigakit could make a deal with jean-françois delnero ? And then produce some
kits and sell them ?

The floppy emulator works great actually

I will say as KG. I hate disk and think things are better preserved when on a HD than on a disk
WHDload would be the greatest solution, if only all slaves worked on all configs, such as non-68020+ cpus and non-AGA. They should make it happen

Until then, floppy disks written from PC directly, or a big Flash card with RAD-mountable games is best.

So get busy! Grr

dredging up an ancient post... but well worth it.

The Torlus HxC floppy disk drive emulator how has WRITE support for Amiga disk images (it's supported disk write for other formats for quite a while):

http://hxc2001.free.fr/floppy_drive_emulator/index.html

specifically it needs some RAM on the board:

Great work.

Will the code for each platform become open-source so that the communities can pick them up tailor the GUI?

Yes.
This is already "free" if you ask to me the code. documentations are also available.

For example in the CPC community a demomaker (norecess) take the original version, and make it smaller and faster !

Hi,

It's now done :

Finally i managed to port the file selector software to Amiga:

Rev B & C Hardware are supported. You have just to get the lastest firmware update and file selector software on the project website:

Really looks nice Jeff!
Is there some kind of solution to make it work properly on an A1200 as well?
It's very difficult to select an image of my sdcard within the manager cause it's scrolls way to fast :-)

Lol. This should not very hard to correct this.
For me this is a good news since i had never tried it on Amiga 1200, and it seems to work (too fast maybe )
