Thanks tero - really pleased the RAD: boot works for you. Nice to know I didn't set it all up for nothing.

North&South works fine (with WHDLoad 17.0.4875) when run from CLI-window booting without startup-sequence. Just noticed that when I tried that as well after successfully running WingsOfFury the same way.

I already bought one from the US, hope to get it next week. Perhaps someone else here is interested?

That's good news about you finding a card already, they make a heck of a difference for the 600 and 1200 when it comes to playing WHDLoad games, it took me weeks to find one at a fair price but it did happen eventually and then the prices started to go to silly extremes for some reason

Got my 2MB SRAM card yesterday, seems he took the auction down to sell it to me - he told me he had two cards more...
Anyway, I guess I should try out the games that needed more memory, I managed to run Worms1MB now, I'll check the others in the next few days or so. |

Hi Bloodwych, I'd forgot all about this Anyway I tried on my A1200 and it works as you say it should however still not on my A600's so maybe its something with the A600 and/or 3.1 rom combination? My A1200 has 3.0 Rom, not sure if this is making a difference Steve. Quote:
You'll find that many games work now, you'll notice the screen will flash in some games, this is when it is loading and in most games its between levels or during intro's so annoying but does not spoil the game too much, sadly on some games it does happen during play. The reason for this is that you'll not have enough memory for the pre-load option. But as I say, many games will now work with 2mb chip and 2mb fast so enjoy Steve. Good to have these things saved, spent two days trying to set up a new card for my brother's A600 - but after checking here I realized the only way to go was to do install from the Amiga 600 with 3.1 installation disks - then move on to WinUAE and the PC for the other files.
Seems the MaxTransfer value didn't take and show up with HDInstTools (or what it's called) even though it was setup in WinUAE according to other instructions with the proper value. So... up and running again, all the 2MiB compatible WHDLoad-games added to the card. I guess I should try more games of them and also update all slaves... at least on the "almost working" ones but now-a-days I've got 4MiB internal and 4MiB SRAM apart from 2MiB chipmem so with 10MB I don't have any problems any more as long as I don't need AGA or other CPU than a plain 68000. I found the 4MB Sakura PCMCIA SRAM, but noone seems to make it anymore? https://github.com/Sakura-IT/ppa-pcmcia-sram https://github.com/jensma/ppa-pcmcia...e/master/board Would have been good for bro's A600, at the same price as an internal 4MB. Noticed my own CF card was defective when trying to do a bit for bit backup, so got a new one, industrial grade. |

When I was setting up my brother's computer, he only had the standard 1MiB gfx mem so I moved my 1MiB trapdoor memory over (and bought a new one from eBay) - that A603 is really huge and near impossible (?) to remove through the trap door. Also swapped the caps, installed a 1.3/3.1 KS switch with a toggle switch next to the PCMCIA port. Also a little light RetroBrite (didn't have proper chemicals) - man those caps are hard to pull loose - the top shell is really really yellow, still quite yellow, but less so.
CF-card HDD that I spent a couple of days on before getting it right - then when just for fun trying the composite output I noticed color flicker, from both composite and RF (they originate from the same output on the CXA1145). So that will be upgraded as well to a CXA2075M: https://www.ikod.se/cxa2075m/ All tabs that hold the upper half was broken so I made one from a piece of the plastic keyboard holding rail and melted it in place and on the other side I made a slot and put a screw in the diskdrive with a tooth lock washer - that holds the top in place there (because making a tab was time consuming and the plastic looks like crap anyway). After looking for PCMCIA SRAM at insane prices I soon decided to spend £35 on an internal 4MiB RAM design by Sukko Pera instead (it's also on GitHub), the Sakura-IT PCMCIA version was also of interest but I didn't feel like building one and nobody seemed to sell them at the moment. https://www.ebay.com/itm/293388790639 Anyway, I had already put the games I already tested (listed in the first post) in a separate folder and also tested a few more. The list is now updated with the latest finds. I'll try some more games but since he's getting 2MiB graphics mem + 4MiB other mem I don't think I need to go through the entire library of WHDLoad games to see which ones will work with just 2MiB. ;-) I'm sure most things that is possible to run on a plain Amiga 600 (with enough memory) will run just fine. I have 2MiB gfx + 4MiB internal + 4MiB pcmcia and I don't have much problems when "WHDLoading". I have seen there's a 9.5MiB internal card as well, needs to be set down to be able to use the PCMCIA port, right? So for that reason a PCMCIA SRAM card is better - apart from it sticking out that much. The Sakura-card might perhaps be redesigned into an even shorter card... https://www.ebay.com/itm/163822536868 I guess if going for acc.cards there's room for a lot more memory. Hope the list is worth something to someone, at least I could use it myself. |

Using CD32load on A600/A1200 IDE 2MB widens the possibilities, as recently explained here: https://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p...postcount=1195
Here's what's been personally tested with CD32Load on CD32 https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?pli=1#gid=0 |
