This looks very interesting. I might reach the limit and buy 4 then as i have 2xA600 and 2xA1200.

One question please.

How do we know/calculate exactly where to cut the case ?

I'm not familiar with this and i'm afraid to destroy anything.

If it is anything like the ones I made myself by gluing a CF->IDE adapter to the top of the PCMCIA slot you just increase the PCMCIA slot vertically.

I didn't cut anything. I used a mixture of files to file away at the plastic. Took longer but nice straight lines and great finish. With a bit of effort and some fine files you can produce something which looks factory made.

Its train day tomorrow so hopefully i'll get the parts. I'll put some pictures up so you can see mine. I can create a paper template that you can overlay on the plastic case that you can use as a cutting guide. Just need to fold it at a line, use some sellotape to hold the template in place and then cut using a dremel (or tool of your choice). A dremel is definately the easiest.

If i do sell out my stock of 60 i will order another batch which would take about 3 weeks from time i put in order for more boards. So if you do miss out all is not lost

Here's a little video of the extender in the A1200. The jumpers are on which remove the 15 second bootup wait. You can actually leave the jumpers on when you insert a CF card and it still boot the CF card ok. The only drawback of doing this is the constant flickering of the activity LED. When the jumpers are removed the activity LED behaves normally.

The video output to the monitor is supplied by the Cheapvid video board i made which produces a Svideo signal from the CXA1145 video chip on the A600/A1200.

The CF extender is a little short on the A1200 to insert a screw so it looks like a little dab of superglue will have to do. The board is held well in place by the pins of the IDE header so movement is small if you decided not to glue the CF extender board to the PCMCIA slot

heres the link to the little video

Hi All,

Time for a little fun.

I'll give away one of my cards (you pay shipping) to the first person that correctly identifies the name of the TV program you can hear in the background of my little movie above, and just so it is a little bit challenging you need to tell me the episode name too

First correct answer in this thread wins

There is enough info in te clip to identify the name of the show and enough to easily google the episode.

I forgot to mention, i will mail it off to the winner first thing Monday (providing they give me an address and cough up the shipping). So it will be the first one shipped

I know exactly what series and episode it is but I'll let someone who actually uses their Amiga get this prize as I rarely use my own.

seems Steve beat me to it. Congrats! It's a great prize.

Just a quick update, i have all the boards assembled with the exception of the 44 pin connectors which have still not shown up, so now i have to start the tracking and compensation process, in the meanwhile i have ordered more and asked for express shipping so hopefully not too long.

I have just the 2 completed at the moment. Sorry for the wait,i am just as impatient as the rest of you

make sure you print the templates as full size to ensure it doesn't scale the template to a different size
