Yep Frog you're right.
The strangest way i meet an amiga was in a big night club where a big A3000 using a utility under WB drove all the lightning/holo/ceiling flashing balls system and it was working really great !!! The disc jockey was clearly using commands by mouse clicking in realtime....... I felt so proud this day !!! |

I remember in Miami Vice (season 1 or 2) that the bad guys stole police data from a computer at night, and there was Tubbs & Crockett watching an A1000 displaying just an empty standard blue CLI window, while the cops were telling that some 3,5" floppies from the box next to it were missing. 100% sure I saw this!

In the late 80's a 6 part series called Hotshots was made in New Zealand. A group of teenage kids foiled the baddies by using radio controlled cars (Avante, Clod Buster etc) and helicopters fitted with cameras, and the baddies were using an Amiga 500 to counterfeit bank notes!
An American woman was kidnapped in the first episode because she was supposedly some expert, and she got the $20 note scanned in. An Amiga was present many times during the program. The end credits each episode also showed an Amiga with monitor in the background and they thanked CBM in the scroller. |

I think there should be a webpage listing every verified Amiga appearance that people can add to when they find more.
In the season one final episode of "Sledge Hammer" (US TV comedy series in 1986/87, similar to "Police Squad") detective Dori Doreau uses an A1000 as a sketch artist to display and print out a picture of a girl in a bikini. (I've got it on DVD) |

I'm fairly certain that there's an A500 featured in The Matrix, when they free Neo from the Matrix after his meeting with Morpheus and it zooms in on Tank and the computer monitors, but I can't tell for sure.

There were Amiga's used in the display of flight departure/Arrival information for several airlines operating out of Perth Domestic, here in Australia.
Not sure if they do any more, but i sure was welcomed when I fixed the system, when it crashed once (I was working as a taxi driver) waiting for a flight arrival. |

The most famous use of the Amiga has to be Jurassic Park, it's not like the movie got an Academy Award for Visual Effects or anything . All the CGI was created by ILM on Toaster equipped Amigas but for some reason SGI managed to take a lot of the credit despite the Indigo's only being used for the final rendering and the graphics for the park's control system.
In The Last Seduction 2 an A1000 is used to run the phone sex business operated by Troy Fenton. Bridget, the movie's main character, breaks into it to syphon off funds for her own use, the Amiga is clearly visible several times during the movie. Television New Zealand used A4000's for outside broadcast graphic overlays at several sporting events namely the NZ Golf Open, there was an article on this in Amiga Downunder Magazine. The contents page of this issue is shown here, it's the picture on the left. The globe that can be seen top-right is the logo for TVNZ's sports show 'One World of Sport'. There was a childrens show produced in New Zealand that was also covered in an issue of Amiga Downunder, unfortunately I can't remember the name but it definitely used Amigas for graphics use - one of the producers was a long time Amiga fan. |

Also keep in mind that The Last Starfighter, which was released the same year, was the first Hollywood movie to use CGI for all special effects, that required a Cray X-MP (a large 4-way multiprocessor machine). Quote:

The Turkish sci-fi movie G.O.R.A. had a C64 which was used to upload martial arts techniques to the hero in a Matrix piss-takey scene
