Retro; do know any more details about this? What software / settings etc. were used in the end to get a verified image?

Anyway, from very quick tests the real CD-ROM and CloneCD image perform the same under WinUAE. I only selected the first girl to play against and went through a few hands.
Lol no but its part of history.

I thought that was Cindy Crawford on the top left!

Btw i played Cover Girl Strip Poker at the weekend, beat all top 4 girls just to watch the CDXL footage! Was pretty unique back in 1991.

I don't think that Strip Poker has the same problems Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective had. But you could ask musashi5150, who did the dump, for general hints anyway. Or you could try to follow the old TOSEC CD ripping guide. Have you tested the Clone CD image in WinUAE yet? Is it working?

Yup, tested the original + CloneCD image in WinUAE. Both perform exactly the same from quick tests.

Then i'm afraid you have to play the whole crappy game to check if it's 100%. You can't verify the dump without a second bought copy of the game.

I forgot about CDRWin and Fireburmer.

Unfortunately though both websites linked to in the TOSEC CD Ripping Guide no longer exist...

Googling CDRWin seems like it got updated to 4.0G before jumping to something crazy like 10 (but seems to be now owned by a different company and looks suspicious).

I might however have both of these apps on an old HDD <goes to check>.

On a very old HDD I have:

... FireBurner 2.12
... FireBurner 2.21

No CDRWin though...

I also saw some other old imaging software that was good back in the day like "Alcohol 120%" and "IsoBuster".

CDRWin 3.9 is pretty easy to find. But you probably need to install in on your XP machine.

You can try to dump CD by using DDump (see my attachment).
With CDmage 1.02.1 Beta 5 you can verify image (make a copy first)

First of all thanks a lot for buying and preserving this game guys!

About the dumping problems if you have access to an old Plextor that supports the d8 command (not the new rebranded crap) you could dump it through DiscImageCreator which is the tool of the trade on Redump.org.
There are other tools you can use to get proper dumps like Isobuster+EAC, but without a drive supporting d8 you'll have a lot of work manually calculating the offsets and a big chance for error.

Do you have the log window enabled in CloneCD? Make sure it is and see if CloneCD isn't regenerating any data (disable that setting), if that's the case you should be good.

I could offer help to dump it with my Plextor, but my dumping rig died last year...

You know I may have an old external Plexter DVD burner somewhere. When I moved house December 2014 it went into storage at my girlfriend's fathers house. On the weekend I could pop over and try to find this.

I think I had the Clone CD log window open... If not I believe it generates a log file; forgot to check that last night before heading off to sleep. Will check tonight

Do you remember the model? I'm not sure if any USB models would work, you'd need to test and see if it supports d8. Worth a shot I guess.

To be sure about CloneCD not being regenerating data, you can simply redump the game with the log window visible and check it out.

Not off the top of my head. Went through old e-mails I'd archived to see if I could find the original purchase order / invoice to get this information but had no luck.

Ok, have re-created the CloneCD (Protected Game) image again tonight. Made sure that the Log window was visible and kept an eye on things (especially from 72% onwards).

All looks good as far as I can tell:

The files created are exactly the same as the ones last night.

...starting to upload this image to the EAB file server

I will now follow the "TOSEC - CD Ripping Guide" to create another image: http://www.tosecdev.org/forum/tosec-...ripping-guide/

The CloneCD image upload to the EAB file server has now completed. Get it from: ~Uploads\DamienD\CDTV\CloneCD

Regarding the TOSEC - CD Ripping Guide. Using the following software:

... CDRWin 40H (cheers Rygar)
... FireBurner 2.21
... ExactAudioCopy 1.1

Not going well though; after following instructions and starting the process with CDRWin I get to 72% and the usual error occurs:

Have tried Frog ASPI and the standard CDRwin ASPI...

I need to post the original off to DrBong in Australia on Friday / Saturday so any more suggestions in getting another image before that time would be much appreciated?
