Its quite deceiving really. The advert makes it look small and thick but in reality its large and no thicker than a regular magazine.

Great, 12 quid for a sodding magazine. Brilliant.

I'm considering cancelling my order, had enough now!

Can any one please take some pictures of the book inside?

I would be pissed too, if I had got a magazine when I expected a book.
You could probably sell it on to someone who wants a copy though.

Great thanks

Being truthful, would you say it was worth the money and waiting for delivery?

All their Bookazines have been advertised like that. Surprised nobody has called them out on that yet.

Ok some random pics :

As you can see it is no different to probably whats been printed in magazines before now. I'm sure this stuff and more will feature in the Amiga Kickstarter book which will be out soon also (which I am a backer).

I will be keeping my copy though as its still a good read. It all depends on how much of a fan you are as to whether or not you should buy it. Probably a tad overpriced but I guess that reflects the limited print numbers and availability as it seems to be sold out very quickly.

I'm still waiting for mine so not sure if I'll be disappointed with it, sounds like I will be if its not much bigger than a regular magazine.

The last book I got was " Videogames Hardware Handbook Vol.1 Revised Edition ". I was hoping the Amiga Book would be at least the same size as that.

I'll keep it even if it's the size of a magazine, it's such a shame though as the Amiga deserves a proper decent size book, I'm sure it would have sold well.

I mean the " Commodore Amiga Book: A visual Commpendium " on Kickstarter did really well so there are people who are interested in Amiga Books.

@Phantomz, I backed the Kickstarter book too, so didn't try to get this Retro gamer book.

Eeerm, well: it is some kind of 'spot the difference' game? This is Retro Gamer issue 39, pages 42-43:

I am now REALLY GLAD I havent ordered so called 'Amiga book'

I've read somewhere recently (in one of the RM latest issues I think) that it includes both older mag content but new, exclusive material as well (was an official statement).

After this arrival and considering Retro Gamers track record I think I'll just download the PDF's and go through it

Well.. I don't have any Retro Gamers issues from the past and never read even in PDF, this book or whatever might still be a good collage and fun to read

I kept quiet about this (wanted to be proven wrong) but it fully justifies why I cancelled my subscription long ago - lack of research in articles, poor pictures/layout (the 'Beast' section from this new book/magazine in particular looks dreadful with the font they've used). Half arsed job springs to mind.

Due to phone browsing, I missed the pictures earlier.
Thanks for taking them Superman.

Wow, it does seem like a copy and paste job.
Not an issue if you aren't an RG regular though.
