Gens32 uses the Kaillera client for multiplayer online gaming. You could try Kega Fusion (Best PC Genesis emu) too. There is a Netplay function, never tried it so far.

Played Gauntlet IV last year with a friend via Gens32+Kaillera. It was a bit laggy (don't know why, server/internet speed was ok), but a lot of fun.

Have you ever tried Netplay in Fusion? Seems to be quite easy and I know my friend has Fusion too. Really a nice feature (too bad WinUAE Kaillera is discontinued ).

No, but i should try it some day. Looks indeed pretty easy, maybe better than gaming via the Kaillera client.

Castlevania Bloodlines
Contra - Hard Cops Landstalker Mega Turrican (gfx+gameplay superior to Turrican 3 - but Turrican 3's music&sfx is 10 times better) Sonic Sonic 2 Sonic 3 Streets of Rage 2 Thunderforce IV That's about it. There are many more enjoyable Amiga- and SNES-games than MegaDrive/Genesis-games. |

Phantasy Star II, III and Sword of Vermilion. Phantasy Star III in particular has a brilliant intro and opening story which really catches you.
Rant: I always felt that the Final Fantasy series was too highly praised and the games were pale in comparison to Phantasy Star as far as playing experience goes. Too much story and guidance being forced onto the player in ridiculous acts and interludes throughout the game, and too little is left for the player to discover on his own. The image I have of Final Fantasy is plain, with younger and younger heroes, with bluer and bluer hair and bigger and bigger swords on their back for each one of the 37 or so sequels they've spat out so far. What a crap game |

Yes, the Final Fantasy series is a bit overrated, but surely FF is not plain. If you play the older parts (6 and 7 for example) you will find many sub-stories and things to discover in the game. I guess the newer parts (must play them one day ) have even more of it.
However Phantasy Star is a nice RPG |

I really liked the Genesis/Megadrive version of Strider and the NHL games were wicked.

I have always thought that The Super Shinobi should be at the top of any of these 'best of' lists. The game has everything, great sound, graphics and above all, replay value.
