All I asked was what for and you didn't answer it. But "Because I want it" is enough mate. Chill.

adolescent sounds like the right name dude, we only wonder why you need so much ram, Ive got 6gig in my system but running a 32bit os at moment so at least 2.5gig of it is`t been used, truth is I upgraded to 4gig(2x2gig) only to find timeings where not as fast as I wanted so put my original 2gig back in (2x1gig) aswell so I don`` lose the chips and I will run a 64bit os soon as I copy all my stuff over, but even then I dought I`ll need 6gig

as a side note been running win7 without virtual mem for 3 to 4 weeks now with no notable speed difference, now thats enough OTT from me

Received a second Saturn Multi-tap to go with the one I bought from BrooksterMax. £16 inc delivery for a NOS Bomberman multi-tap, boxed, never opened. I'm all set for 10-player Bomberman (Dynablaster) at Retrovision in February.

I got it from an online Retrogames shop that is new to me. It is a UK based Jap importer.

http://www.genkivideogames.com

The prices are spot on MUCH MUCH lower than eBay for just about everything and although a lot of items say "on back order" email them and they can get all of them within 3 weeks.

Wondering is much different than telling me that I don't need it, over payed for it, wasted my money, won't be able to use the extra memory, etc. as alexh did. I respect that most people don't need >4GB of memory however I do.

Woa, I thought the guy behind "Megadrive" (floppy disk emulator) gave up?

Where did you get that from?

Hehe, the price was 100e and postage was 15e from Russia to Finland. I guess the French one was cheaper? However I wanted this one.

About 5 days for the SWIFT transfer and another five-ish for the mail.

Works fine, I think I'll go and buy a 2GB card for it and bunch that full of classic ECS demos.

Shame he didn't carry on the work. I believe he felt it needed another revision of the hardware with a more powerful processor to reduce the MFM conversion time.

@ Jope:

I suppose not, but... does it support IPFs too?

How many formats does it support? I couldn't find this info on the website...
Does it support all the formats supported by "the other one" (the french one)?

Yeh, it's in the tens of seconds. I don't mind that too much, perhaps there will be better devices in the future, but this is here now. :-)

IPF obviously doesn't work.. And .adf works, also atari st, spectrum clone images work I believe.. I only need adf support myself, so I didn't really care about finding out. :-)

The Core i7-860 is a Lynnfield processor which uses dual channel DDR3, not triple channel DDR3 like the Bloomfield (i7-920, etc.). 6 was possible, but only mixing 2x2GB and 2x1GB which I didn't want to do, and would have ended up only saving me about $30.
