Maybe all the sega decoders should be renamed to spangenberg. That said, I think the format variations are pretty much only used on Sega arcade ports. And Sega is shorter than Spangenberg.
Of course the change will be merged into disk utilities.

I reworked and renamed the afterburner read and write to jeff_spangenberg. Added the extra_data to specify the syncs to the track type definitions.

Will be reworking/renaming the sega read and write. The read and write will be renamed to hackmat_2 and will change it to use the extra_data to hold the synsc versus using the case statement.

The file will be rename jeff_spangenberg.

That all sounds great. Thanks as usual for all the work on it!

good that you supported this format, because as it is, it's unsupported by the CTA tool.

When are they going to update the CTA to SPStudio? They've been promising a new DTC and an update to the CTA for years!!

There was a post on th KF forum from December 2016 mentioning SPStudio in regards to creating C64 IPF's, so that's nearly 7 years, dtc hasn't seen a new update since May 2018, but you could argue v3.00 does what it was intended for, dumping!

Is no news good news though?

Seems disk-utilities can support a lot of formats the CTA can't, except DM though (if you exclude the emulation only support).

Just for the record, i have been able to create for the first time a new decoder for Altered Beast US version inside the CTA decoder library !

I have called the decoder "Altered Beast US", deported from the After Burner US decoder that we have currently.

However, i see that Tracks 0.0 and 0.1 are wrong or have something else. the CTA says Amigados + header data.....

Either the disk needs cleaning or it needs re-dumping with a KF / GW?

Dumped it and it seems the 3 tracks are still bad. Not sure if I have the correct settings in the GUI.

The original dump only showed errors on track 0.0 and 14.0 with disk-analyse. Using pull phase of 46 ( -P 46) we were able to create a good IPF. I have tested it all the way to the end.

by the way, i played a bit with altered beast US. The 60fps/NTSC display makes the game much much better to play than the euro version !!!

And it shows as well that it's shitty ST once again..... shame :/
