Did you check through all of the xgpro menus? Often you can byte swap the buffer after loading the file in.

I've just purchased a bunch of 27c400 EPROMs.
I just want to burn a 32-bit DIAGROM for my A1200s and re-burn KS 2.05 for an A600 (since I put a 16-bit DIAGROM there and I think it might prove useful again in the future) In short: it's unlikely I will heavily use a burner, so I'd like to buy one that is not too expensive. Is there any particular model that might be worth checking? |

Thanks amico.
I'm still waiting for the EPROMs to be delivered (shipping from China so I knew it would take a bit) so I'm not *that* much in a hurry, but it's nice to know beforehand anyway. |

Does anyone have any recommendations for a *good* USB programmer?
I still can't read or write roms with my 866. Reading around on here and elsewhere I see people with loads of quality issues with them, both on the hardware and software side and none of the fixes I've tried got me any closer. |

I have burned several kickstart ROMs lately (using 27c4100 chips) with a TL866 and an adapter such as this one with no problems. In the software, I set the type as 27c4096 since it does not know about 27c4100.

I use a GQ4x4. More expensive than the TL866 and also needs an adapter.

I'm building custom 1mb kickstart and it has these :
ADD Modules/3.1.4/exec.library ADD Blizkick/1MB_ROM ADD Modules/3.1.4/audio.device ADD Modules/3.1.4/battclock.resource ADD Modules/3.1.4/bootmenu ADD Modules/3.1.4/card.resource ADD Modules/3.1.4/console.device ADD Modules/3.1.4/FastFileSystem ADD Modules/3.1.4/FileSystem.resource ADD Modules/3.1.4/gameport.device ADD Modules/3.1.4/graphics.library ADD Modules/3.1.4/input.device ADD Modules/3.1.4/intuition-v45.library ADD Modules/3.1.4/keyboard.device ADD Modules/3.1.4/layers.library ADD Modules/3.1.4/mathffp.library ADD Modules/3.1.4/mathieeesingbas.library ADD Modules/3.1.4/Ram-Handler ADD Modules/3.1.4/ramdrive.device ADD Modules/3.1.4/scsi.device ADD Modules/3.1.4/Shell-Seg ADD Modules/3.1.4/syscheck ADD Modules/3.1.4/timer.device ADD Modules/3.1.4/trackdisk.device ADD Modules/3.1.4/utility.library ADD Modules/40.72_Hyperion(A1200)/battmem.resource_39.2 ADD Modules/40.72_Hyperion(A1200)/carddisk.device_40.1 ADD Modules/40.72_Hyperion(A1200)/cia.resource_39.1 ADD Modules/40.72_Hyperion(A1200)/con-handler_40.2 ADD Modules/40.72_Hyperion(A1200)/disk.resource_37.2 ADD Modules/40.72_Hyperion(A1200)/dos.library_40.3 ADD Modules/40.72_Hyperion(A1200)/expansion_40.2(A1200) ADD Modules/40.72_Hyperion(A1200)/gadtools.library_40.4 ADD Modules/40.72_Hyperion(A1200)/keymap.library_40.4 ADD Modules/40.72_Hyperion(A1200)/misc.resource_37.1 ADD Modules/40.72_Hyperion(A1200)/potgo.resource_37.4 ADD Modules/40.72_Hyperion(A1200)/ramlib_40.2 ADD Modules/40.72_Hyperion(A1200)/romboot_40.3(Hyperion) ADD Modules/40.72_Hyperion(A1200)/wbtask_39.1 ADD Modules/icon.library_68020 ADD Blizkick/ColdResetCard ADD Blizkick/DosResetCard And -- > ADD Others/ROMHeader/ROMHeader_E0 ADD Others/DummyCDstrap ADD CDboot/romdisk.device_rel ADD CDboot/cd32_pri-10.rodi ADD Modules/40.72_Hyperion(A1200)/workbench.lib_40.6(Hyperion) Goal is to make possible to boot from CD, CD32_pri-10.rodi is a CD32 emulator disk from Idefix. It does work. I can boot from CD and I can browse CD from cli and start OS installation from OS3.9 cd. With these components, icons are not shown, no matter wich icon library I have in kickstart, unless I have a workbench.library from 3.1.4 on libs draver. Problem is cosmetic, but I would like to solve it. What would need to be replaced to get workbench.libary from 3.1 kickstart to work like it should work? |

I have burnt a few custom 3.x 1MB ROMs for my A1200 using Remus with the Blizkick/1MB_ROM (in main part) and ROMHeader_E0 (in the extended part) and these have worked fine.
I thought as an experiment I would use 2.05 and replace the scsi.device with more recent version so I have tried to build a custom 1MB ROM based on 2.05 using the same extra files as I do for 3.x ROMs but it seems that the extended part is never recognised. Is this just not possible or is there something different I need to do? |

Does anyone know if this type of eprom is ok for A1200. When I say type I mean this actual model.
AMD AM27C400 I know specifically 27C400 roms are ok for A1200 but I just wanted to know if that exact one would be ok or if anyone has ever used those? |

I've used AMD AM27C400 EEPROMs in my A4000 so that should be fine.

Also can confirm that AMD Eproms worked (used them once or twice, 120ns version).

As far as I remember:
- 150ns can work but often is too slow - 120ns should work (did work when I checked) And interestingly the A500 is more picky about speed than f.e. an A1200 or many other Amigas. At least I read that somewhere, maybe someone knows if that's true or not. And by the way I wrote a Windows Program that assists with - byteswapping - wordwise split/merge as it is needed for 32bit machines (HI/LO) if someone needs that. It's quite easy to use and I've planned to release it here but I never found the time Last edited by Nightshft; 02 July 2020 at 03:49. |
