Thanks to modern Hippo, i have discovered Timidity, which MIDI rendering is real good with latest archive on Aminet. GMPlay and real hardware through serial output also works perfect. With mod, sid, mp3, midi it is the one and only all around player now.

Hi ! Oops, I'm sorry for this dumb question. I must have overlooked sth : how do you get Impulse mods playing ?
I did put the Deli "Impulse" player in progdir:. SnoopDOS doesn't indicate any missing files. I tried the same .it mods with Deliplayer and it worked. Cheers ! |

@koobo
A few requests/suggestions if I may: - I second Calabazam's request for different midi mappings if possible. - Could it be that double clicking a track in the list starts playing? - There's a DeliAY player, which is not as accurate as vgm2wav, but seemingly plays everything. Could there be an toggle option to use that for ay instead of vgm2wav? |

Maybe another look would be in order. The current AY support came as a byproduct of integrating with vgm2wav. |

@koobo : yes, this was the missing file, oopsie !
Hmm... Regarding using actual MIDI hardware... I noticed that I frequently had to "reset" my Sound Canvas because some settings were modified by the song (well, that's logical). I don't know if that would be feasible or even a good idea, to optionally enable to send an "init" mid before sending the actual file... hmmmm... ?! |

Koobo,
Does Hippoplayer support playing of .wav files ? If it does, there is an issue when playing via a prelude card. The system locks up. I'm on an A2000, AHI 4.18, MHI, and a prelude sound card. Other apps (amigaamp, some others) have no problem playing .wav files. |

It does, but the previous version might have some issues. Try disabling MHI and/or AHI and see what happens.

You are right. Disabling MHI solves the problem. The version I am using is 2.59 (Nov. 11, 2023) Suggestions: Add the version number on the menu bar. Double clicking a selection starts playing it. Last edited by ProfPlum; 13 January 2024 at 19:13. Reason: added a 2nd suggestion |
