According to PayPal $758 (£584) worth of a BitCoin ?!?!?!

Told them it was fraud --- they did not agree

Contacted my Bank --- they did agree and reversed it (phew !)

Needless to say unlinked Bank + Cards...

Bought a PCIe X-Fi Xtreme Titanium Sound Blaster to go with my vintage 2.1 speaker set. The µATX Asus motherboard I use for this machine has very limited expansion options (in terms of ports : x1 PCI, x1 PCIe and x1 SATA, yup, just one of each!) so I needed a card that would fit the only available port, the 1x PCI Express one. The card overlaps on the GPU fan by a couple of centimeters but that was expected. I managed to install it, even though the port socket was unseated (previous owner must have turned the screws too tightly, what a... ).

A new gaming pc based around a Ryzen 5900 and GeForce 3080. The long wait begins, won’t be getting it for some time.

Went to local retro store to get Genesis 2 AV cable (can't find mine since we moved) and and spotted this computer, so could not walk without getting it...

And thankfully, they had Genesis 2 AV cable as well...

Nice! I wondered how that C64 performs. Is the output HDMI or composite too?

As for genesis have you done the RGB mod!?

Only HDMI, no composite out.

One USB in back, HDMI and power (Unfortunately microUSB, would preffer USB-C connector for power)

Power button and 3 USB on right side.

It seems decent C64 and Vic20 emulation, with option to run PAL/NTSC system. Not sure that I love joystick tho, I am more for game pads, and according to some web sites, PS 2 controller with USB adapter should work. (will test it tonight)

I tried carasel option with some games, but soon after updating firmware decided that is best to keep it in classic C64 mod. Easy to open menu to select floppy/tape/cart. One of reasons I tried Turrican was to check disk change in game.

I have not done anything on Genesis. I do have CD Add on, but I can't remember last time I used it. Sad couple @ the same store going for 35 bucks. Might get one just for safety.

Actually, considering MK1+2 were supposedly Megadrive ports I'm surprised no one has talked about Megadrive SF2...but enough thread derailing!

A fully cleansed + cap/battery reworked A3000D with a new silent fan, SB11, latest WD, kick 3.1, reworked HD & DD floppies and keyboard. The system has been stored somewhere for years so the plastic has not even yellowed

A friend blocked it (and eventually went through the cleansing process - while I provided some update parts from my reserve) from an old closed electronics shop warehouse stash he came across by accident.

Very fortunate. I wonder about these gems stored in various defunct businesses lol.

Got a Sumvision Cyclone 3 Media Player:

Unfortunately it switches itself off if anything is in the USB port
(probably an internal short ?)

To be sent back (wasted money on Postage)

Or PSU not giving enough power and it is being drained hence switches off. See the following thread:

Nice idea --- but no (both PSUs tried = 5V 2A)

It has a USB Mini B port
and just plugging in the Mini B to USB A adapter
(or starting with it in) = OFF

#EDIT#
Just got a new cable...
Now it does not switch off (or not start) with a Speaker pop
It just does nothing...
IE not recognized

Could it be the difference between Mini A and Mini B ?

Mini-A and mini-B pinouts are identical pinout-wise, it's only the shape of the outer shell that's different, so if both cables fit, then both should work.
