Hi, I have rewatched your last video
[ Show youtube player ] and your game, or better said your gem, is MIND BLOWING. I really hope you will find the time to release it sooner than later. It has such an Amiga feeling, from the graphics to the music, without forgetting the genre and the theme.
We are back in 1993 thanks to your contribution and who here doesn't like to go back in time? Your game could have been a MAJOR Amiga release and in the same magazines as Chaos Engine in face to face reviews. Anyone who had an Amiga until it didn't die could tell today this must be an Amiga game. The Amiga simply has (I didn't write "had") the best games in this world. Not because it is true but because it is the Amiga. Wish you success with this project. I have no recommendation to make. Back in the day we took the games how they came and I am still fine with that. It's 1993 again, isn't it? |

Wow!
Thank you so much for the comment! I will make sure that Magnus (the programmer) sees it as I know he loves it when people love the look of our game. ![]() I really wished we could go back to 1993 with this, ![]() A little word of warning though, this game will be tough. Not too tough as to crush your spirits, but a certain level of skill will be required to progress, the same kind of skills needed in Team 17 games, or in Chaos Engine. There's a lot in this game for those that wish to explore levels, or players can speed-run it too should they wish. We're fine-tuning a LOT of stuff right now, play-testing upon play-testing. I am also tweaking some pixels that I am unhappy with (which drives Magnus NUTS! ![]() It won't be long before people can play it for themselves and either love it or hate it, but the most important thing for us is that we created it just the way we wanted ![]() Thanks again ![]() |

What's happened to the development of the game? Its been 5 months and nothing, I would have thought it was finished by now.

Maybe authors roam the Milky Way in a spaceship, along with the Two guys from Andromeda. As you probably know, that other duo had SpaceVenture in the making for a while (Space Quest follow up, most likely yet another vaporware

Hello!
Thanks for the continued interest in the game! We're still working on it ![]() 'The best things come to those who wait'. I need to make sure the game is absolutely perfect before we release it. I know this is frustrating for anyone waiting to play it, and I am very sorry for dragging out the development longer than we had planned, but I need to know that this is our best work for the Amiga, as I don't know if I will ever get a chance to do this again after Scourge. I am planning some sort of update video very soon, I will post that video here when it's done. Thanks again! I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and a very prosperous New Year...hopefully 2022 won't be the shit-show that 2020 and 2021 turned out to be. |

Happy new year everyone!
There are a couple of videos for you. The first one shows the first 13 minutes of the game, loading and intro and then some gameplay, specifically showing how to stick around the shop in the early minutes to help build your arsenal up before running off to explore. The second is a timelapse video showing the creation of the loading screen ![]() We really hope you enjoy these videos! (Vapourware indeed! LOL!) Stunning work.
I hope the scrolling works okay while playing. It´s a bit busy on the eyes watching the video. |

What can I say, it just looks phenomenal. Absurdly good pixel art. I expected a different, more somber kind of music for the town level shown, to reflect the scenario of dark streets overrun by monsters. The dynamic camera system seems to behave a bit erratic at times, but that might just be me. This indeed would have warranted a full-price release back in, say, 1994.
I'd say that the game, if converted to PC or even consoles, would find a measure of success in the 15-20 USD price range. It would be a shame if all those fine graphic and audio assets would not be seen by non-Amiga (emulator) users ![]() |

Yeah, I wished I had a time machine haha! I would very much like to convert this game to more modern devices and have experimented with the possibility too. The music in Scourge is set to divide people, that's for sure ![]() |
