Managed to win an eBay auction for a pretty clean-looking Amiga 1200 yesterday for our little gamedev studio. PAL machine with PAL/NTSC boot modes, working floppy drive, 4GB CF, no expansion card. Will be pimping it out posthaste.

Not bought, but I just rescued a Brother laser printer that was being chucked out by a business being refurbished nearby. These printers are great for Amiga use, typically having LaserJet 3 emulation, as well as Postscript support and other emulated protocols. Also, they're the last printers I've seen still sporting a parallel port. I don't think they still have them, but up until very recently they were still included for the niche market of older (MS-DOS typically) machines.
The model I got is a HL-5380DN. It has USB, parallel and ethernet connections, all of which can be used by various Amiga models from the most basic up, depending on the setup. It already works beautifully with the HP Laserjet III driver, and I'll experiment with other drivers to see if improvements can be made, but excellent "purchase" (rescue) I reckon that can be shared across all my Amigas and other platforms. |

I should probably mention I got my A4000D aluminium front from PRS on AmiBay. It just looks so good. Another incentive to take it to the chip doctor and have it fixed up...

Just picked my new A500 Rev 6a with ACA500+ and Gotek. It's rocking 8Mb with 1Mb chip ram, featuring a Scan Doubler, and ECS Denise
looks in great condition, and whilst I probably paid slightly over the odds, I'm made up. |
