I'm just pointing out the obvious reasons why Amiga owners aren't as anal about preserving every rotten bit of their old floppies. The other reasons are more about the bureaucracy and slow working of the preservation infrastructure.

You can create CT RAW images with either a Kryoflux or Kryoflux Free for real Amigas and preserve your own collection! If the version is supported via a WHDLoad install you can use a WinUAE setup with HDD and workbench to mount it and install, if it installs without any error it's more than likely OK.

The slave installers usually skip the protection part of the disks, so even if they install without error, it might not be a good dump. Better to boot it (in WinUAE or written back to a floppy on a real machine) to see if the protection passes.

Ah yes, the custom encoded game data is read of course. However I think there are slaves that skip (e.g. the last track), presumably because it just contains protection stuff and not game data? It's possible I've misunderstood the islave code.
