Hi, yes I am still making these. I have a new colour that is a bit brighter than the CD32 dark grey. I will make one and send you a picture.

@salocinx

Are these devices shipped with the latest firmware?
I also saw you were active on the Github project , are there any custom changes you added to the firmware on these?

@th4t1guy

Hi - yes these devices are shipped with latest firmware revision 0.6.

Since I meanwhile made a new edition of the Plipbox (not found time to update the initial post), I altered the firmware slightly. I added a "network activity LED" to the hard- and firmware. Nothing really big, the original firmware works fine on my Plipboxes too.

Changes between classic and new edition:

A.) 2x LED indicating power and network activity
B.) added connection for the _RESET signal that automatically resets the Plipbox as soon as the Amiga is reset (also implemented on the classic version)
C.) added PhotoMOS relay to automatically switch the Plipbox on/off when the Amiga is turned on/off (only working with DC 9V power supply, not when powered through Mini-USB port directly)

The new Plipbox edition costs USD 69. The classic edition is still available for USD 59.

Here are some pictures of the new edition:

Nice work!

Is the PhotoMOS driving off the additional power led?
I also noticed the network port itself looks like it has leds on it. Do those work?
Does the _RESET signal connection account for when the Amiga crashes? (maybe it's sent when the system boots again?)

The PhotoMOS is driving of the entire Plipbox as soon as the Amiga is powered off (controlled by the +5V pin on the Parallel port). Consequently, the power LED is also powered off (indicating the correct state though ).

Yes, the two LEDs on the Ethernet RJ45 jack do also work fine.

The Plipbox resets itself as soon as the Amiga resets, i.e. when doing a soft-reset with the keyboard. On a hard-reset (power on/off the Amiga), the Plipbox resets itself by the _RESET signal AND the PhotoMOS relay of course. When the Amiga crashes with a Guru for example, I am quite sure that the _RESET pin is shortly set to low by the Amiga; also triggering the Plipbox to reset (but not 100% sure, will have to test next time I get a crash).

Very nice. I have been using your plipbox (old version) for more than a year and I really like it.

would it be possible to get a case printed for the plipbox for the amiga 500 parallel device that requires 5v? Its the taller version where everything is stacked.
