You're a cruel man, but I like you
As an aside, there's a feature on the Lotus series in the new issue of Retro Gamer - featuring interviews with the creators. Not in the shops until Thursday though. |

Have you played the other Lotus games?Could you share your Lotus raking please?
For me the first one is the most addictive, all three are equally playable but the second one is very insistent repeating over and over again the same circuit, due to the difficulty increment in every circuit however the difficulty decreased supplying passwords, besides I don't like a racing game with passwords, the third one is very similar to the first one but I find it less challenging at least what I've tested,it can be completed in the first attempt. The first Lotus is the only one that is played in closed circuits, obstacles need recall the lap after lap, that is lost in other Lotus. 1.Lotus 2.Lotus 3 3.Lotus 2 |

With manual gears, you also dont get a better ranking in Wales than 3rd. Even if you (can) overtake until 3rd place in the first 1.5 laps, you drive for the other 1.5 laps without seeing the 2 cars, and they finish in an utopian time. I only saw it once in a two player game, that a fellow-student started from about 10th place and finished in 1st position (with me being third). But I think manual gears help quite a bit in Greece, and are essential for the last race, Antarctica.
Managed to improve my score a little bit with 4 other attempts. Easy: 140 (as before) Medium: 200 (as before) Hard: 278 Total: 618 |

Wales is a lottery. This time 18 CPU cars drove slowly, so I got 2nd (times: 1st 2.13, me 2.20, 3rd 2.25):
Finished 8th in Antarctica. Easy: 140 Medium: 200 Hard: 278 Total: 618 Last edited by john4p; 02 March 2011 at 10:52. |

I can confirm Wales IS winnable from 20th place.
The screenshot feature seems to have stopped working for me. That would have been infuriating if the rest of my run hadn't been rubbish. I'll have to use Print Screen from now on. |

Actually on second thought, I messed up the final lap of the previous race and came second, so I actually won from 19th. I won easily too, 5th-1st were all together and I caught/overtook them around the end of the second lap.

I'm pretty sure the next 50 times you reach Wales the 1st will be uncatchable again even if you drive perfectly...

That's the end of the round - a hotly-contested one ending in an honourable draw between john4p and newcomer Harry.
