Damn, you were really into sports.
Really gay, badly drawn sports. I don't think anything beats spectrum covers at being bad ![]() |

"me and my phobia"
clearly.... when this is on the printing press.... did they hide all the sane people in the canteen or something? or did they fall about laughing!? maybe it means something different in a different country? |

"me and my phobia" is my own association/comment on what I see in the picture... the game's name is "olki's world"... explanation for these covers is simple - total amateurishness, no "games industry" in Poland in 90's (I am not sure wether it exists now), lack of money. See, communism was not very private business-friendly system and computer games were seen as misleading entertainment for spoiled bourgeois societies of the west, so there were some back-logs to overtake after 89. I think that year before "they" (or rather "he")established enterprise, they were selling pirated games in the street. Law changed and quick they turned into businessmen. The cover was made by someone who did not painted anything since he/she was in ground school (no artistic talent of course)... maybe it was owner of the enterprise, maybe his wife/brother/child/dog - just to minimize costs. Hiring professional probably would have lead him straight to bankruptcy ![]() As western originals with boxes were rare in Poland (prices...), there was no comparison, kids would have bought even most shitty looking things with magic formula "computer game" on it (and not too expensive) "printing press" just printer I guess ps. unlike the covers or most amiga games, some Polish games for "small" Atari were really good imho Last edited by humble worm; 01 April 2007 at 11:51. |
