I just started playing Paper Mario on the N64 a few weeks ago. I quite like it. My favourite N64 games though are Harvest Moon (I know, make your jokes) and The New Tetris. It's arguably the best implementation of Tetris I've ever played. Super Mario 64 and the Zeldas deserve honourable mentions as does the somewhat childish Kirby 64 which vexed me so.

Just how many Mario Games are there now???... Its probably THE only franchise in existence that has gotten away with this MANY spin offs, sequels, versions....etc.. I absolutely despise Mario games and in some ways, Mario is like the Bill Gates of the game character world in the way he has dominated for so long.

But in all my hatred of all things Mario, the fat gay mustached little annoying turd has a place in my early gaming history with the LCD game Donkey Kong Junior & the original Donkey Kong game that i had on the CBS Colecovision. So maybe i can hate him just a little bit less

Mario isn't that bad Most of the Jump 'n Runs are really good (if you like that genre ) and even some of the spin offs are quite fun to play. You right about Mario being the 'Bill Gates' of game characters (imagine him with the huge glasses ) and Nintendo will never let him go. So expect to see new Mario games for decades
Btw : Mario really looks a bit... you know... ghey

I really liked Mario vs. Donkey Kong on GBA. Nice small levels ideal for killing couple minutes here and there...

So far I have 9 N64 games:
Banjo Kazooie
Donkey Kong 64
Mission Impossible
Perfect Dark
Ready 2 Rumble Boxing Round 2
Star Wars: Episode I Racer
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire
StarFox 64

@Anubis
What about Castlevania?

Does anyone else played 'Aidyn Chronicles'? I was a quite good RPG for the N64 (maybe the only one except well... Paper Mario ).

Some time ago I completed Castlevania on N64. That game was fun and it works well in PJ64.

I returned N64 3-4 years ago (had problem with loader-connectors) and got new one. What sucks is that I returned all games I got with it. New one I got just about month ago.

Ah okay. Good luck in recollecting your games Just seen they are sold at very reasonable prices on fleamarkets here. Something between 5 and 15 €. You could talk with the merchant if you are going to buy more than 2 they usually give you a good discount

Games here are between $ 2.99 (that's how much I paid for SW games) and $20 (Ocarina of Time price at local Trade n' Play)

Not sure if I recollect them all or just will get Wii and will get them trough VC. (seems cheaper )

Yup sounds cheaper and you can even play all the nifty Wii games too I would too go for the second option, but since you already have a N64 maybe grabbing some of the $2.99 games might be an option too

Anyone ever try Space Station Silicon Valley? It's an obscure game but one really worth playing.

Post Deleauvive N64 lists

Had a N64 for my personal enjoyment for years, so here is my list (minus some of the obvious classics) :
  1. Diddy Kong Racing -> kind of zany Mario Kart with air and water circuits, superb one player missions, great sound effects
(I suspect the makers of this game weren't drinking only water)
  2. Goldeneye 007
  3. Mace the Dark Age (if only the N64 could display all the details of the unplayable MAME version)
  4. Starfox 64 (lacks replay value)
  5. Rayman II (port is better on the PC)
  6. Mario 64 (finished with all the 120 stars collected, but had to call Nintendo support center for those in the clock room )
  7. Spiderman
  8. ISS 2000
  9. Yoshi's Story (so cute !)
  10. Cruisin' World
  11. Extreme G
  12. Quake 64 [not suitable for younger children]

Then, on my "bronze medal" list :
  • Bomberman Hero (a bit hard to get into)
  • NBA Jam '98
  • Forsaken 64 (port is better on the PC)
  • Killer Instinct Gold (easy to master combos, repetitive after a while, visually impressing)
  • Mystical Ninja starring Goemon (if you can dig the Japanese clichés this one bears)
  • Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (more of a hit on the Playstation)
  • Mortal Kombat IV [not suitable for younger children]
  • NHL '99
  • Ridge Racer 64
  • Turok III : Shadow of Oblivion

Also, FIFA 98, Tarzan, Pokemon Stadium, Turok & Extreme G II (XG2) are on my young bros' fav. list.

By the way, here is a Paper Mario screensaver, for those of you who like to be reminded Mario's adventures in paper land.

I have this one game I can't remember the name of, you have to demolish buildings and objects that are in the path of a runaway semi with a missile on the back. Tough but fun game.
