Actually it's not

I just played through the PC version and the first 3D section is after the two first 2D levels.
I tried the Amiga version again and it's the same there.

Yeah I'm playing through it at the moment so I should know. lol. Level 1 is is the tyrannosaur paddock, 2 is triceratops paddock, 3 is the first indoor level, 4 is the stegosaur paddock. So really the map is level 2 the triceratops paddock.

ok...picture comment was changed...

i´ve used the level codes and thought that they were correct..

BTW:

still working on the next outside level (i think this is right when i say it is level 5 )

it is really much work..but still the best result for a gamemap...

Nice

Will this make the remaining maps easier to rip as well?

it is still easier to rip them that way instead of put screenshot after screenshot to have the whole map...

i´ve nearly finished the level 5 map...uploaded to HOL, but its not perfect..some particular tiles needs to be replaced....

http://hol.abime.net/828/gamemap

and this was necessary to make lvlrip understand the level 5 data:

Quote:
source$ = RequestFile$("","",0,"")
dest$ = RequestFile$("","",1,"")

s = ReadFile (source$)
d = WriteFile (dest$)

For i = 0 To FileSize(source$)/2-1

value = ReadShort (s)

value = swap_bytes (value)
value = value Shr 2
Select True
Case value <$5F
wert = value
Case value => $5F And value <=$7E
wert = value-1
Case value > $7E And value <=$8B
wert = value-2
Case value > $8B And value <=$8F
wert = value-77
Case value >$8F And value <=$EF
wert = value-3
Case value >$EF And value<=$130
wert = value-4
Case value >$130 And value <=$139
wert = value-4
Case value >$139 And value<=$153
wert = value-6
Case value >$153 And value<=$191
wert = value-7
Case value >$191 And value<=$2F0
wert = value-8
Default
wert = 0
End Select

wert = swap_bytes (wert)
WriteShort d,wert

Next
End

;read a short and swap bytes to get the right value
Function swap_bytes (word)
byte1 = word And 255
byte1 = byte1 Shl 8
byte2 = word Shr 8
mod_word = byte1 Or byte2
Return mod_word
End Function

thanks....i´ve looked some minutes at your savestate and can say following things that i need to generate the map:

complete map is 3904 pixel wide
122 blocks in a row
189 blocks per column
925224 - position of start for collision array
890616 - position of start for offsets to blocks
complete size of map data is 23058 bytes

everything we need to start understand the data "format"

but i won´t start until weekend..

EDIT: savestate must be uncompressed

I don't mean to nag, just curious if you're still working on this?

You got so far, would be a shame to stop now after all that work
