it weird, this 1disk version doesn't work on my 500+ (ecs agnus pal, ecs denise, kickstart version 37.175, 2mo ram), but it work on my 600, i by the way i'got the same problem with mr nuts quartex version.

There should be no reason it doesn't work on your A500+.

Exactly where does it fail? Do you get to see the cracktro? Does it fail after the cracktro exits?

yes i can see the cracktro, then the disk drive stop to read.

are you using a modded PC drive ? I mean a non original amiga disk drive ?

Maybe it's one of the drives that don't clear the READY bit. Can you try attached adf on your Amiga and tell me which color you see?

OK, your drive does clear the READY bit so that is not the problem then.

Is this immediately after exiting the cracktro?

After the cracktro the disk should seek to track 79, then it will seek back to track 1 and load approximately 20 tracks... pause and then load a few more tracks.

Does it do any of these things?

If your drive doesn't even do the seek to track 79 properly your drive might have lost calibration.

My code for the bootup routine works on all machines i've come across so far.

Sounds like your drive is knackered then, my crack uses the RNC Sector loader, its very reliable and works on ALL Amigas and was the last revision of the loader.

Your drive obviously doesn't like seeking from track 0 to track 79 and back again to track 1.

It can't be a memory problem as exec is used for memory detection and it works fine on A1200.

I notice you've also got a problem with Son Shu Shi, this cannot be a coincidence?

Or maybe something went wrong during the transfer and/or your disk is damaged. To check that create an image of your disk and compare with the ADF.

but if it was a problem transfers, why is it working on my 600? and i ve got exactly the same problem with mr nuts quartex version.

Then I also think your drive is not working properly (dirty heads maybe?).

Mr Nutz Quartex version, i'll bet money you see the cracktro, see the Ocean logo, see the NEON logo, and it crashes after that yes?

And the Quartex version is a pre-release as far as I am aware, only the Fairlight version is cracked from the Final sales version.

Odd, might be shitty code in the bootblock, but this version also does a big track seek to track 79 and then back to track 0.

As Stingray suggests, your drive either has a dirty drive head, or your drive is getting old and flakey and doesn't like seeking from the start of the disk to the end and then back again. Annoyingly for you, Snow Bros only does that once right at the start.

ok, so i need a disk drive cleaner then. i will see that tomorow. by the way is there a lot of difference between the final version and the prereleease of mr nuts ? and how did you manage to do a 1 disk version of snow bros when flashtro made a 2 disk, can you do that with all the game ?

I recompacted the entire game, and had to juggle the contents around to ensure it could still load/save hiscore to the same place.

The Quartex version has nearly 400K of data missing, so that gives you an idea of how much extra was in the Final Sales version, and bearing in mind that 400K is compressed, thats quite a bit of data.
