Has been introduced with 4.0.0 public release. Worked fine re-editing those HDF + fs paths and starting emu, up to 3.6.1.

I couldn't duplicate it but I noticed changed path was not stored if dialog was exited with return key but that was very old bug..

I can reproduce it always here, even clicking OK button to dismiss HDF setup (not Return key).
Attached my cfg, maybe there is something specific in this cfg: https://nofile.io/f/PwvP3xP3bP4/Beta...triple+060.uae
(maybe it also requires to find the specified HDFs on 1st cfg loading or the bug won' t show up?).
My repro steps are:

start WinUAE
select cfg and click Load
edit in the CD/HD panel my dh0 and dh1 switching to the other HDFs (mirrored HDF PFS3) and manually editing the string gadgets for HDF path and FS path, then click OK

at this point if I start emulation I have "Not a DOS Disk error" and if I use F12 I see the hdf + fs are correct, even if it's not the case (internally WinUAE seems to still use .\ROMS\SmartFileSystem for those HDFs, even if GUI looks right). To make it work I have to Remove the 2 hd and re-add them from scratch.

Check the log to confirm this. Path is logged during mounting.

Did you really change filesystem path (or hardfiles in general) when emulation is already running? Thats not fully supported, part of changes may get applied but not all..
(or for some other reason your log has multiple "sessions")

No, I followed exactly the steps mentioned above:

I launched WinUAE with log
Loaded the cfg listed here clicking the Load button at the bottom:
Edited manually the CD/HD paths
Clicked on Start button to launch emulation…. Not a DOS Disk error!

Then the log is wrong. It has huge amount of lines, for example system has been reset 181 times in this log! ** RESTART ** 2 times (=RESTART button was pressed. Never do this when logging something unless debugging restart related problems)

b4 launched as "winuae.exe -log -logflush -scsilog -scsiemulog"
...There is something strange: it won't save logfile on exit when, after "Not a DOS Disk" I press F12 and quit from GUI. But I made a cut & paste of the log from opened window:

Hmm.. -log should always enable log file.

Anyway, log shows pfs3aio being used.

Boot normally, press shift+f12 to enter debugger. Type TO and press return, copy and paste the output. Then boot again when it shows not a dos disk and attach another TO output.

Geometry is different. It looks like geometry (surfaces 1<>8 and sectors 32<>63, which then makes total number of cylinders very different) resets to defaults?

Does GUI still show correct geometry values or do they change?

Hey Toni,

Have now had the chance to test with "Cache Boxart files" unticked; it still takes 35 seconds for WinUAE to be displayed after double-clicking the desktop shortcut.

Thanks, I know benefits of G-sync but the new beamraced v-sync gives the same perfect picture without tears and stuttering, reducing to 0 input lag, So I'm quite welcome to disable g-sync now that there is this option, even more since 100 Hz PAL is working very well.

Still can't duplicate. It is almost guaranteed it has something to do with either HDF. (Not necessarily the one that has the problem)

I'll repeat again: You MUST remove all unnecessary options from the config before posting it. Your config still has far too many options enabled, too many harddrives, JIT enabled, CPU is 68060 and so on..

For example remove those unneeded directory harddrives. Still happening? If yes, keep the config and remove more options.

EDIT: Also exact beta that introduced it may help.

EDIT2: Other HDF has default geometry, it is possible it gets copied to another HDF (I can't see how). If you edit its geometry (to something else, exact value is not important), save the config, load it again, try to duplicate the problem, check what TO command says.

Beta 5: (Probably still one more to go..)

- input.keyboard_type was always read as Amiga keyboard. If PC layout was set as default, keyboard layout was read incorrectly from config file.
- Amiga reset during RTG rendering in RTG multithread mode could have caused a crash.
- Modified Filesys path in hardfile dialog was not saved if dialog was exited with return key.
- Don't attempt to resolve symbolic links or shortcuts when saving config file paths. (b4)
- Only attempt to resolve symbolic links when directory filesystem accesses it (to simulate Amiga side link), not when opening disk images, hardfiles etc..
- Fixed clipboard sharing (b1 update broke it)
- Delay clipboard data transfer when screen mode changes to prevent situation where mode changed because of program taking over the system. (Emulator can't easily detect between all kinds of Amiga-side triggered native<>RTG mode changes or if it is user switching modes/alt-tabbing which triggers clipboard data transfer check)
- Added Harddrives and Disk Swapper drag'n'drop workaround that fixes corrupted graphics during drag operation. (ListView_CreateDragImage seems to been broken since Vista or so..)

Attached my cfg, maybe there is something specific in this cfg: https://nofile.io/f/PwvP3xP3bP4/Beta...triple+060.uae (maybe it also requires to find the specified HDFs on 1st cfg loading or the bug won' t show up?). My repro steps are: start WinUAE select cfg and click Load edit in the CD/HD panel my dh0 and dh1 switching to the other HDFs (mirrored HDF PFS3) and manually editing the string gadgets for HDF path and FS path, then click OK at this point if I start emulation I have "Not a DOS Disk error" and if I use F12 I see the hdf + fs are correct, even if it's not the case (internally WinUAE seems to still use .\ROMS\SmartFileSystem for those HDFs, even if GUI looks right). To make it work I have to Remove the 2 hd and re-add them from scratch.

Not a DOS Disk error!

It has huge amount of lines, for example system has been reset 181 times in this log! RESTART 2 times (=RESTART button was pressed. Never do this when logging something unless debugging restart related problems)
