i thought the only thing its useful for is the included roms?, the emulation side of things is a quick/simple free download.

Yup, same here, only purchased once for the roms, was worth it for that alone.
The emulation side, not so much, well actually not at all. I think an old version (perhaps newer ones to) included Amikit and that is my mainstay for PC Amiga Emulation, courtesy of WinUAE of course. |

It does seem extraordinary the level of support shown for Cloanto, a company that has probably benefited the most financially from Amiga all these years, but ironically contributed back the very least to the community in terms of active development. The real people deserving respect are the hardware and software developers that actually sat down one day and decided to take a *risk* by developing something new, pay coders etc, whether that was ELBOX who developed the Mediator line and even still do the odd production run today, Jen's Schoenfeld who needs no introduction and has taken on Picasso 96 development in recent years, Ibrowse team, Roadshow, WHDLoad, Michael Böhmer, A-Eon, Lukas Hartmann's ZZ lineup, Warp team, Apollo computers team, the AmiDev Team who do Amifox, Amitube, and more for free, everyone I haven't mentioned, etc, etc, etc. I just hope if Cloanto/Amiga assume uncontested development rights over AmigaOS they will actually do something seemingly against their nature and actually do something with it, not just integrate AmigaOS 3.2 into Amiga Forever and design some fancy new packaging, do a licensing deal with AmiKit, and spend the next two decades or so expecting the same wheelbarrows of cash from AmigaForever fans who seem to think paying for crusty old ROMS somehow helps support our platform. |

Yes. The Premium version with the nice DVDs. AmigaOS 3.2 and AmiKit are next.
