My issue was down to using WinUAE 5.1.0 that had a bug, 5.2.0 fixed it:

Quote:
5.1.0 Bug fixes:

Fast 68020+ mode interrupt timing fix. (Some games hung or had missing or badly playing sound)

Just tried the Manic Miner v2.00 install and that installs/plays from an IPF of my own disk

Only issue is I can't select Manic Miner II, same issue as in Jet Set Willy II that I can't select Manic Miner Demo!

So Manic Miner imager will allow you to install from the wrong disk? Oops.

This only affects some emulators AFAIK, but weirdly it works for me on the same version of WinUAE as you have - 5.2.0.

There is a fix for both menus but it makes the menu movement and selection speed noticeably slower, though not bad really. Maybe it could be an optional patch.

Hi,

Right it seems to be the same files, that was my mistakes...

Without Retroplay's post About SPS 1116 in the Zone, I would never have found my error

I guess JSW2 uses the same disk format so the imager was able to read it but just dumped out whatever random data was at the Manic Miner file offsets.

Abaddon supported Manic Miner in disk-utilities and that's how I made my own IPF, then out of curiosity I tried IPF #1115 and that also is recognised as using the same format as Manic Miner, so identifying the correct disk does seem necessary!

Manic Miner WHDLoad installer v2.00 B3 (2024)

- added CRC checks to imager
- add optional "Game Speed Fix" - maybe only useful on FSUAE?
- internal changes to make use of WHDLoad things added since v1 of the installer Mostly conditional patchlists, which made trainers and other options much cleaner to implement.

Also fixed an issue in MM/MMII where Willy would disappear when jumping at the bottom of the screen, seems there was a glitch across the screen that obscured Willy.

That's one of the game speed fixes and I think it's also in JSW2. I think they are doing some beam racing that goes awry if the machine speed is ... unexpected. I've only ever seen it on emulators though.

Working fine here on pistorm and "normal" amigas Don't need to set any of your whdload options on either to have it working fully.
