My interesses in programming the Amiga is to programm some projects of automation, think that C is the best language, but liked to know how to programming demos too.
What magazines do you had read to learn programming the Amiga? I have Amiga Format and CU amiga but they don´t go too deep in programming lessons. Lately I had collected some books and other info about programming the Amiga in C and assembler but I´m a little confused about where to start reading ..And good luck with your device project |

I used to read a lot of Amiga Shoppers. A lot of their coverdisks also had tutorials.
Automation and messing with the hardware is nice. Programming the serial and parallel ports (the first choice I remember for automation) on the Amiga is easy. Last time I dit it, I used assembly, but I didn't have a hard drive to confortably use a C compiler. There's a program of mine on Aminet which uses the serial port (orion.lzh). I actually did a faster version using the parallel port but lost the code. |

I have Amiga Shoppers too I already programmed the parallel port but thru ARexx, banging the hardware, but I want a more OS friendly kind of program with windows, buttons and all sort of things
I will find your program in Aminet to see what it makes |

As promised. This book: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Software-Eng...8531721&sr=8-1
is excellent if you're learning ANSI C. No Amiga specifics though. If you run into any problems programming just ask. |

I'm preparing my Amiga machine for C development. I'll be trying some compilers (Aztec C, SAS C, Dice, Hisoft C, Storm C) and will let you know if any of them has windows and buttons.

Better late than ever! Here's my new Magum030 40Mhz and 32MB Fast Ram Pics :
The Card and 1stSimm (the fpu will come from my Hawk): The second simm socket: The card fitted in my A1200, note that only the 2nd simm can be used in order to close the trapdor of the A1200, in towercase the 2 simms can be used giving a total of 64MB of Fast Ram!! My system insides: And Finally the Sisinfo screenshot! I have a stange feeling that the cpu on this card , the 68030, is in fact a 50Mhz version, as the last numbers of the chip have been scratched, will trie to read the last numbers to make shure, if so only need to find a 50mhz cristal and off we go!! Other question, I allready fitted the fpu (a 68882 40Mhz) and SisSpeed keeps saying it's a 247Mhz chip (other times only 9mhz)!!!! is this normal or the fpu is toasted? The CPU/FPU tests in SysSpeed run OK with no errors so the FPU must be OK.... I Think. Last edited by JLPedro; 18 December 2008 at 12:12. |

Is the FPU being overclocked? What are the numbers on the accelerator's oscillator (rectangular or square silver thing with black writing)?
Does your PCMCIA port work with that accelerator? |

Hi JLPedro,
Nice that you finally upgraded your A1200. Well you can also compare your FPU performance with the tests from AIBB with the same modules and compare the results. |

No overclocking here, booth chips work original at 40Mhz and the cristal oscilator reads 40.00Mhz.
And Yes the PCMCIA port works great, i have a 3com ethernet pcmcia card conected to a pc. |

Nice specs JLPedro. What do you will do with your A1200 now that is more powered?
If I was you, I was not very worried about what Sysinfo says about the fpu as in AIBB to try the performance of my 68060 I must say that is a 68010 to it or otherwise it crashes. That kind of performance tests programs are too old and are good for 68000 or 68020, recent processors has some problems for those Programs. As xpect says try with other programs and compare the results. |

Hi Eny- Do you by any chance have Dane-Elec or Integral flash cards? You could help me out testing something with the Blizzard 1230
