I'm reserving high level languages for serious work projects. I had an attempt doing a C++ game on the amiga and it was not really a success. It will be asm or nothing. Scorpion can do great things but probably impossible to transcode games like I'm doing. And I love baremetal programming even if some aspects of it eludes me (DIWSTART/DDFSTOP values...) Now that my "long term" (just understood the question that someone posted a month ago meant...) project is done (yes it was Donkey Kong), I'm torn between resuming the RE of the game and doing that one (this is a mockup, but using ripped assets by tcdev, already converted to amiga bitmaps and MAME memory dump for sprites so it's half real! And the game has been fully reversed & commented like Donkey Kong) EDIT: same mockup image now displaying on the real machine, well, WinUAE side question: do you think sprite multiplexing could be used here as the enemies of the swarm share the exact same animation pattern at all times? That (galaga) is a BIG missing in the western 8 bit: msx have it, pc-xx, x68000 have it but not spectrum, c64, amstrad and so on and i not even know why

I remember cracking & completing Super Jeep on my Oric Nothing like Moon Patrol (no slopes, limited obstacles & enemies) but overall good game with parallax background & 5 levels (uncommon on Oric). A "Superproduction" of the time by the prolific coder Carlo Perconti (who then probably did Moktar and Blues Brothers)
Moon Patrol is a different league. I'll post a new video in a few. I made the scolling & the wheels follow the terrain which is great because it means that the scrolling is properly aligned. It also doesn't "jump" which means that game logic is respected. There are a lot of remaining issues but the intro is running nicely I found a partially reversed Z80 code that completed my personal reverse effort. Not as complete as Donkey Kong, but helps. |

I suppose that this is the one https://computerarcheology.com/Arcad...trol/Code.html
It may be worth asking the author if he did more. |

debugged more last night and fixed some errors. Still some bugs, but appears less daunting that when I paused the project.
ATM I can even play ! I can jump the 2 first holes, then it crashes when rock is going to appear... Then there are the UFOs that probably won't work. But taking shape! |

When you paused the project I had anticipated this to be on hold for months, now your back in the groove already!
Is this gonna be ready by next Tuesday then In all serious, another great port to look forward to, utter classic of a game. |

I hate starting something that I can't finish. Currently having 4 projects in parallel, but that's to avoid being bored. But Moon Patrol takes the lead again.
