Rip Height adjustment
Also, maybe the rip height adjustment (Y/H) should automatically increment/decrement in multiples of the BplHeight.
Seems the rip height adjustments always default to 16 regardless |

If you have a Byte map with more than 255 $FF Tiles what would Maptapper expect or be the norm or could be the next value for 256,257 in Hex etc

Guys.. has anyone had any luck with save states from Kick off 2 or any of the expansion disks? I`m following the tutorial but I still see rubbish. I can make out what looks like something.. but not a tilemap ( I know they are used because I`ve extracted them with DDFS ) but I wanted to see if I can get at the muddy and icy pitches .

Are the four other pitches available in the standard Kick Off 2 or are they in the data disks?

They are in the data disk... although I do have a crack that doesn`t require the ko2 disk.

The tileset for Kick Off 2 is one big image of size 320x192, whereas Kid Gloves 2 from the tutorial has lots of 16x16 images. So the settings are:
Kick Off 2: Bpl Width: 320 Bpl Height: 192 Kid Gloves 2 Bpl Width: 16 Bpl Height: 16 So in one case you have a single image and in the other case you have lots of small images. For Kick Off 2 you then need to tell Maptapper what size the tiles are, so you have to set the "Actual tile size" to 16x16 on the Tile Ripper tab. After this you can use the Map Search to find the pitch from a screenshot. If you are having trouble seeing anything in the "rubbish" (or The Matrix!) then it's usually best to set the width to something like 320 with only one bitplane and then scroll through the savestate looking for patterns (or text in this case): Last edited by CodyJarrett; 06 December 2014 at 11:22. |

Great thanks for the explanation. One last thing. How did you assemble it together to make the pitch?

I first used the Map Search. I selected six tiles in the screenshot and then let Maptapper search for it.
There were lots of matches because that pattern of tiles appears numerous times around the stadium. Then in the Map Ripper tab I used the drop down that lists the matches (e.g. Horiz $5AE7E Width 80 shift 0) and selected the first match. Maptapper thought that the tileset should be adjusted by 1 (the position of the tiles in the tileset changed a negative or positive number of times) but it didn't look right so I adjusted it myself and ended up with an adjustment of -1. Finally, I also adjusted the start position of the map: |

Thats brilliant.. thanks very much.
Now I`ve tried to apply this to another Kick Off disk. A weird one by a cracking group ( Gigasoft ) This is based on the original Kick Off.. so i`m guessing sizes etc are different. Would you mind, possibly taking a look at another state? see if you can extra the UAE pitch? |
