BTW, how about implementing Phazer gun support into WinUAE?
(that is, emulation would do, just so that Aliex can be played with keyboard )
on a1000 'LP signal' is only on amiga mouse port 0 (Dma register $dff00a)

on others classical amiga, 'LP signal' is only on Joystick port 1 (dma register $dff00c)

for some of my new whdload's patches (actionware game for trojan phaser) you can change used port via custom's tooltype so I think this patches can works on a1000 but of course I haven't tested it... without an a1000

yes you will can play all amiga phaser games with last whdload's patches and a sega master system 3050 phaser

but for that, you need a little adaptator very simple to do.

here damon_sisk's adaptator (read this thread for more details):
To Amiga Joystick port 2:__________To Sega 3050:
______9 pin female_________________9 pin male

_____Trigger___5 ---------------------6----
_____HitSense__6 --------------------7___ || 10k pullup res.
_____+5_______7 ---------------------5----__from pin 5 to 6
_____Gnd______8 ---------------------8______mounted in connector.
you need for that 2 sub-db9, a little cable and a resistor

more over the sega master system phaser 3050 is better than the trojan's or actionware's phasers.

because it don't need a long white screen flash to work...

IT's really interesting because I am working on a support for light gun for some classical amiga games:
Operation thunderbolt (already finished and soon released)
Operation Wolf (soon finished ->just calibration screen to add)

for light gun support like trojan or actionware it's difficult to play because in this games you use all time a machine gun then you see very much white flashes (it's hard for your eyes ... even if i use grey screen color $999)

my patch use another mode for sega's phasers without the bad white screen flashes (via a whdload's custom tooltype) and so this games are really good to play with a phasers

After to have finished operation wolf's patch I will try to start a new patch for cabal...

so the better way for amiga users who want a light gun is to buy a sega master system phaser (with whdload of course even if a modifyed disk version would can do, it's not planned by me... )

Cool!!! I was going to try to make Operation Wolf/Thunderbolt work with the light gun, but it sounds like you beat me to it! I can't wait to see your work.

try it:

OperationThunderbolt.lha

but need whdload and some fast memory...

The better way is to use Sega phaser mode (via custom tooltype)

In this mode you can play and shoot with your machine gun without see the bad white screen flashes.

ps: for the moment there are no modified disks version planned to do work this patch on a simple a500 but why not,

whdload's it not really needed for the lightgun support... I will perhaps wait a bit for bug report and done a disk image of operation thunder bolt with light gun phaser....

I don't know.... because you need a special adaptator.

And I have not found it to test....

2 gun game support

Fryguy,

What game do you have that supports 2 guns? The only ones I know of are Actionware games, and they require a special interface. I have one of the interfaces from Actionware that I bought on ebay in order to figure out how it works. I am working on a universal adapter (if I can ever find the time), but I could scan the circuit board of the Actionware interface (it is very simple, just one logic chip) and post it if that would be helpful. You should be able to use both guns then with this interface so you could have two players (or two guns for you). However, you will need to also make an adapter to connect the trojan phaser as an Actionware phaser. I think I put instructions for that somewhere in this post. If I remember right, CFOU! got that to work with his Trojan phaser.
Let us know how it works out for you.

I think this will not work with an LCD monitor. AFAIK only PAL-monitors (50 Hz) are supported. What kind of LightGun do you have - a Trojan Phazer?
If you want to sell it, make me an offer.

sorry im thick

whats afaik mean?

so in theory you could get it working on a CRT monitor set to 50hz?

i think you can get them on ebay quite readily.

im amazed that through years of PC gaming. no-one has developed a light gun that actualy works on a decent monitor.

of course they do in arcades.

oh just so you know. the LCD is an LCD TV and its using composite output. dont suppose using the old arial would help lol

With M-22 Laser Light Gun (PS2 gun), drivers from xoomer.virgilio.it/guncon2/ it is possible to play all Amiga mouse controlled games if you have PC connected to CRT TV or monitor.

Only four wires are just that, do not put any resistor?
