@Amiga-Digital
Thats awesome! I plan to make four prototypes for Jan
interestingly enough, once the first two are developed the rest will fall into place in all truth.. After reviewing those A500 IDE links coze posted, i am pretty confident that this could be engineered as an add on to the 020+8MB ram which brings me to the idea of building a a1200 to CD32 accelerator interface with an IDE port on it. I believe most, if not all the signals are present. but before all this happens.... imma finishing of SVideo cards, and doing a batch run of externals at least. |

wow great that you make some hardware but about the 8mb memory what wil you use 72-pins ram or smd ram if you use 72-pins ram maybe i can get some dubble 72-pins sockel's for 2 x 4mb simm's to you for your 8mb and i habe here some layout's from a turbo board for a phoenix board a a1000 replace board 1 with 4mb and 1 with 8mb maybe there is a way to convert the 96-pins sockel to 68-pins sockel for the a600/a500 if you wil have the layout ( it's make by GB Georg Braun ) and i have ask for a time back if the layout maybe be rebuild for the a500 that was no problem to rebuilt the layout but when you still have myn e-mail you can ask for the layout's |

I'd take a board & CPLD.
My A600 might have a use yet, be a dam sight cheaper than fast ram for my A1200 |

Excellent job!
At least, I think this is one of the bests hardware projects of the last two years (or even more). Cheers to you! |

Are you all guys sure you want THIS? Just an unpopulated board and CPLD? =) If yes, I'm gonna order some new PCBs.
But now I'm preparing new version for manufacturing PCB. It has jumpers for configuration (4mb+pcmcia, 8mb without, maybe 1-1.5mb of "slow" (but really fast) and no mem at all), has better CPU and chipset ventilation and hopefully will have less problems with CPU socket contacting. |

I think we are all so sick of being ripped off with bad eBay prices and the shear lack of decent Amiga upgrades in the market, especially where the A600 is concerned, we are crying out for things like this!
Are you making a new board? |

@ lvd
I will wait for the 4/8Mb version as well, what memory chips do you recommend for the board? Could you create a parts list for those who want the board and CPLD? Are the RAM chips EDO? Do you plan to make fully assembled boards, and if so, how much would they sell for? As you can see, there's a ready market for them if you can get them made in volume. Edit: Just read the files and a BOM is present, thanks. I have nabbed some 8Mb 60ns SIMMs from Fleabay, ready to donate the RAM chips when required. Sorry, I thought the full product was on offer.
If someone was to assemble the complete unit, then I would happily buy from them / you (with a bag of jelly babies and a milky bar thrown in) |

I'd be interested in assembled, populated product. Face it, most of us are not handy with soldering irons and desoldering Ram chips from SIMMS is beyond us. Personally I think Zetro's suggested board (020 @ 16/20mhz +8MB RAM - A600 / A500) was the best option. Many A500/600 owners would like a "small" upgrade to make better use of their machines. IMHO that is the best possible seller if the price is competitive |

@ Methanoid
For some of us, soldering irons are magic wands that can do wonderful, magical things (just ask Zetr0), and a gas soldering iron or hot air paint stripper gun is a must for desoldering chips. I'm quite happy to get the bare kit and make the final board up myself, as are others. @ Zetr0 I bagged 13 x 8Mb SIMMs, 9 of which have the 60ns chips required for lvd's project, if you need some, let me know. £4 for 13 SIMMs, cheap as chips *cough* LOL Merlin |
