You can't mess with Fire & Ice! Has to be one of the best games on the Amiga - great levels, good gameplay - and without Trainer, impossible to complete! lol

@galu: thanks for letting me try out the alpha
As requested, I tried some of the games from your list. I'm using a Nexus 7. Oh No More Lemmings only worked with [a2] version on my nexus Shufflepuckcafe Arcade Pool: Works fine (see screenshot below) Lethal Weapon: Works fine (see screenshot below) Micro Machines: Works fine (see screenshot below) Soccer Kid: Couldn't get past the first disk prompt (see photo below) Why would it ask for disk 1? Its already in there. I tried disk 2 but just got black screen. What is the correct procedure for swapping the disks? Would love to know this as the game I would like to play, Premier Manager, requires the insertion of a 2nd disk, Will the next alpha build include a disk activity icon so you know if its working or not and maybe a screen adjustment for games that cut off ? Keep up the great work, I am so happy I can finally get past the cracktro screens now. Last edited by sarbz; 02 November 2012 at 03:15. |

Soccer Kid: Disk labelled "1" is actually a "Boot disk", disk 2 is disk 1, etc.
A small teaser (update should be ready tomorrow): @FOL - sarbz sent me this (Nexus 7): "When I click back and change the disk in the floppy, it just crashes on a black screen" - can you confirm this behaviour (N7)? |

@FOL, @galu - if it helps, the software version is 4.1.2
in any case, I wouldn't worry about it. I'm only borrowing this off a friend, it's not my Nexus and I won't have it for much longer. This is probably just me again but when I press load state or save state nothing happens. I think the tablet needs a restore or something but I can't do it because its not mine. |

I have updated the emulator with a second, multidirectional controller. The default one (which is perfect for for platform & racing games) is called QuickJoy, and the new one - which is a work in progress - is called GridJoy.
GridJoy works with shmup games, topdown shooters, sports games and isometric games. Unfortunately, I could not play Cadaver (Esc key still not working ) and Alien Breed (crashes) :P GridJoy recommended games: Silkworm (cr Defjam), The Chaos Engine, Speedball 2, Paradroid 90, R-Type 2 (cr SKR), Kick Off 2 (cr OCL) / Sensible Soccer, D-Generation (cr FLT) You can change button size and margin (left/bottom/right). Default settings on a 4" 800x480 screen (button size: 45dp and 10dp margins): For "rapid gameplay" soccer games (Sensible Soccer, Kick Off 2, Sierra Soccer) I preferred slightly smaller buttons (30dp) and 20dp margins: You can slide your finger outside the button area and the directions will work, so it's totally different experience than on UAE4Droid and other emulators I have tested. What do you think? Please send me a screenshot from your device (with default settings). Let me know, what settings (button size, margin) do you prefer and what games have you played? Maybe is it possible to make better use of vibrations? There may be some performance issues with Gridjoy (button redrawing) - it's an early preview - so low-end tablet owners may experience slowdown. And there are some other bugs (fire button sometimes not resizing after changing button size setting). Edit: I forgot to upload the new version Last edited by galu; 03 November 2012 at 20:46. |

Had a play with the latest build and all seems good.
Batman the movie... Dynablaster (with slightly expanded stick)... Dynamite Dux.. Prince of Persia... Again some graphics corruption (this time for robocop 2)... I've got to say that the touch controls for mouse games are great (lemmings is really very playable now). The new joystick controls are working fine (default seems the best option) but I'm still rubbish with them though and personally prefer a real joypad or mouse (appreciated these are alpha builds in w.i.p), Happy days though as amiga android love is much appreciated!! |

@Baboon - GridJoy is not suitable for platform games - please replace these two screenshots
Again, Recommended games ("QuickJoy" controller - platform games, racing games): Arabian Nights (no crack version), Addams Family, All Terrain Racing (aka ATR, cr PSG), Lethal Weapon (cr Ministry), Benefactor (crCLS t+3 FLT), McDonald Land (cr SKR), Chuck Rock 2 (cr ATX t+9 ATX), Gods (cr CSL t+7 Setrox), Recommended games ("GridJoy" controller - shooters, sports games, isometric view games): Silkworm (cr Defjam), The Chaos Engine, Speedball 2, R-Type 2 (cr SKR), D-Generation (cr FLT) Last edited by galu; 05 November 2012 at 00:05. |

Parse error?
I'm having trouble installing the omega500.apk on my sony ericsson play. When I attempt to install the apk via the android install manager it says "There is a problem parsing the package".

1. Samsung Galaxy S3 users: the controller buttons are barely visible (both ICS and JB TouchWiz ROMs). Clearly a Samsung bug, but I'm going to add transparency settings soon.
2. I have an experimental build of Omega500 with Fame/C core, with a slightly better game compatiblity - Ruff n Tumble, Fury of the Furries, Lotus 2 & 3 and Alien Breed working - but at the expense of UAEDroid savestate compatiblity. I'm not sure if I should just drop the old core and use the Fame/C for the first public release, or choose Fame/C as the default core and add an option to switch to the old core if necessary. There's no APK yet! Probably next week. |
