I had a look with my own 8svx player and there appears to be nothing wrong with these two files.
8 bit mono, 13464 Hz. Perhaps it's the strange frequency that annoys DP. |

Thank you meynaf. Couldn't find a workaround unfortunately. It won't play any of the similar files I tried, like:
Alien Breed: Tower Assault (CD32) It Came From The Desert Kid Chaos etc. |

Then the fault is in the player, not in the files.
