I was gonna upload it it to the EAB server but didn't do it because of a few WB1.3 and relokick disks.
Better safe than sorry you know. |

All 387 (excluding the no-no ones) ADFs made by Retroplay can now be found on the file server in the folder 'Game/Disk/NewGames (not in TOSEC)/Retroplay'

I'm currently going through a lot of my disks that I believe to be non-TOSEC or possible Alternative dumps (my disk collection is in the 1000s currently screening through random selection).
So far out of the 336 disks dumped. Only 38 of them turned out to be in TOSEC matching the same CRC checksum. I am currently screening through these ADF(s) to see if the disks are still ok or contain any checksum errors. Also if they contain any viruses (some of the ones added/uploaded have had the viruses removed), etc. I am also excluding a lot of the alternative dumps that do not have any real difference compared to the ones currently in TOSEC. If there are differences in appearence, etc is when they will be included. Andreas' tool 'ADFCHK' has come in handy for this job. Over the coming days/weeks/months on the EAB File Server under the following directory 'Game/Disk/NewGames (not in TOSEC)/NioByte/' expect more to be uploaded. I will continue to edit this post with the new upload additions. So far these are it: Applications (Contained in sub-directory named Applications) Quote:

A lot of the releases shown above are from local BBS' & disk swappers that used to be in Perth WA and around Australia. That is why a lot of them contain [h] tags due to this reason (not all are from Perth WA or around Australia, the majority are though). This is one of the main reasons why a lot of these are not contained in TOSEC. Here are some of the Australian division cracker/importer scene groups: ACU -> Australian Crackers United (Cracker & Importer) Bandidos -> Perth WA (Importer) Divinity -> Perth WA Division (Importer) Fusion -> Perth WA Division (Importer) HellRaisers -> Perth WA (Importer) Liberty -> Perth WA Division (Importer) Paralax -> Perth WA (Importer) Phantasie -> Australian Division (Cracker & Importer) SpreadEagles -> Perth WA (Importer) The Fire Starters -> Australian Division (Importer) The Punishers -> Australian Division (Cracker & Importer) TIC - Freestyle -> Australian Division (Cracker & Importer) More to come watch this space Last edited by niobyte; 21 February 2011 at 18:25. I thought I would bump this thread. I have been busy dumping more disks and screening for TOSEC.
Now have the following new non-TOSEC entries: Applications: X-Copy Professional v3.3 (1990)(Cachet)(NTSC) ...added, Crashdisk Application Compilations: BD'89 Projects Disk v1.0 (1989)(Unknown)[h BD] Copy-Disk Release 8.1 (1987)(Electronic Cracking Crew) Firm, The CopyDisk 3 (1988)(The Firm) Hacking Tool Compilation (1988)(RICKochet Rabbit)[b] Really Useful Utility Disk (1989)(Bootblockers)[b] Games: Flight Simulator II v1.1 (1987-06-04)(subLOGIC) Stunt Car Racer (1989)(MicroStyle)[cr QTX][h TIC - Freestyle] 'Copy-Disk Release 8.1 (1987)(Electronic Cracking Crew)' is quite an interesting one as it includes Marauder I. The files are currently available in The Zone! More will follow soon. Last edited by niobyte; 12 July 2015 at 08:56. |

Thanks for promptly adding the X-Copy disk into TOSEC. Are you also able to add those compilation disks? I noticed quite a few of the ones I have in the EAB FTP under my folder are still not included yet. Regarding Stunt Car Racer, it is essentially the same Quartex crack with a different cracktro at the front simiilar to the [h Hellraisers] release. As both of these groups appear to be local. I am still not sure how to mark 'TIC - Freestyle'. My previous renames for it as well as this one is just [h Tic - Freestyle]. I am unsure how else this could be written. As I don't know what the abbreviations would be. |

A500 confirmed crash. After cracktro it loads more data from the disk from offset $2c00 which contains string "TREE " and then tries to execute it, not suprisingly "TREE" is not valid m68k code. (Did someone overwrite it? The rest is valid code)

@Toni Wilen
If we correct this part, it does not work either! 00002c00h: 54 52 45 45 20 20 20 20 => 00002c00h: 4F FA 04 9C 41 FA 00 0A By cons, if we replace from $2C00 to $2F00, that's OK. |

That is rather interesting
I guess this release never worked. In this case most likely very rare. Unless there may potentially be another one modified that doesn't contain the invalid m68k opcode. @CrashDisk after removing the offending 'TREE' entry and replacing the memory region ($2C00 to $2F00) does it load in its entirety? After reading the hexdump, it is still the Quartex release. How would this particular one be marked in TOSEC, still as [b]. Technically the disk image has no errors / bad sectors. Maybe: Stunt Car Racer (1989)(MicroStyle)[cr QTX][h Freestyle][b Broken Release]? Last edited by niobyte; 29 May 2015 at 02:17. |
