The Killing Game Show impressed me no end when I first saw that in a game shop. It was the first nail in the coffin of my exclusive C64 gaming. Another World is also very impressive and really sets the scene. Beast 2 is good as well, although I'm not a fan of the pixel art style.

Blood Money for me.
While it's not the most technically advanced intro for me it was significant in the Amiga history because it added another nail in the coffin of the Atari ST. |

The guy who wrote that music (Ray Norrish), absolutely hates it!! I think for him it was a piece of music of its time, but like you said, in comparison to what the ST was putting out, there was no danger in the ST competing against it. I think the ingame music to Blood Money is pretty damned special, just a great tune. |

While Another World was amazing, I also liked some of the ones with just music.
Magic Pockets, Turrican II are what springs to mind. They really only have a title screen and music, but I've never forgotten them. Prince of Persia too. It was a few cut scenes, and a tiny amount of animation, but the music was amazing quality, and the animation, even though there was only a tiny amount, was super high quality. I too loved The Simpsons Bart Vs The Space Mutants. It looked so professional, almost like an episode of the TV show. I think, Monkey Island too, was fun. But, maybe I liked it because the game itself was so good, rather than the intro. Lure of The Temptress too, had a superb intro. Not an intro, but, Jimmy White's Snooker and Archer McLeans Pool, if left alone, did some fun little animations. They were unexpected in such a serious game |

Ha! Yes, you're correct. Now that I see it, I definitely remember seeing it before. Definitely. It's funny though, I have zero memories of the intro. Maybe I always skipped it because I wanted to get in-game quickly!? |

Not including pre-rendered stuff like Planetside, Microcosm, Roadkill my favs are:
Blood Money - those asteroids blew me away, and the music is to quote another Psy game awesome! Another World - again mind blowing for the time, immense vector story based intro. Liberation - impressive on the A1200, but the CD32 version with speech and CD audio really bring this intro to life, which whilst technically not impressive at the time it was really well composed and edited. |

with kid's eyes : Psygnosis' Barbarian
with those eyes of mine : Genetic Species, Aquaventura (I cherish these old school somehow pointless pre-rendered game intros) Last edited by SquawkBox; 09 December 2019 at 11:41. |

Thinking back, it would have to be Frontier Elite II that I remember for the best intro.

Bart vs The Space Mutants (seeing this for the first time was a wow)
Bill's Tomato Game (cartooney intro) Blood Money (for the music) Chuck Rock (another good cartooney intro) Fiendish Freddy's Big Top o' Fun (also had an equally good outro) Indiana Jones & The Fate of Atlantis (I love a playable intro) OutRun (I love the booming voice and the orchestral music - don't mention the game) Rocket Ranger (moody music and Hitler shaking his fist - sets the story) Shadow of the Beast 2 (the one that instantly springs to mind - maybe the best) Super Space Invaders (an intro that was not in the arcade and a great outro as well) The Three Stooges (with the fake Defender of the Crown intro) Treasure Trap (dance version of row row row your boat!) Xenon 2 (for the music) Most of the Cinemaware games had a good intro, but I think Rocket Ranger is the best for the dramatic music and stroy setting |

Cute indeed! It's already been mentioned, but Armour-Geddon's one looks great.

Yes, the Psygnosis intros always had been highlights.
Sometimes I even didn't like the game, but used to keep the first disk with the intro. |
