I bought a lot of rank markers this time. Last weekend, the game decided to crash as things went well. So I decided to continue on the Lords of War install instead, as this has no SPS release too. Hopefully I can finish it within the next month. |

2 hours, 18 minutes and 37 seconds later... yet again the rank degraders prevent me scoring higher. Was looking good for fourth place at one stage but came up short.

Just checking in to see if I need to play again to hold my place. It seems like I don't, second place is good enough for me.
I find there reaches a point with this game where the only thing that can get me killed is either accidentally collecting a wepon downgrade icon, or fatigue/boredom. Both factors got me killed as I faced the final boss for the third time when obtaining this score, I collected a double shot icon in the level before and forgot to replace it when on the shop screen due to my failing attention. I blasted away at that guy for what seemed like an eternity. War 1 plasma would have finished him off pretty quick. Fireballs I find to be my second favorite weapon, I clear waves of enemies far quicker with that weapon than with lazer or plasma. It seems to me that the big points bonuses for rank markers and maxed out lives shrinks when you try to buy lots of them in the shop screen. Buying thirty rank markers and extra lives all at once does not seem to make the difference to my score that I am expecting, but buying a couple each time does. Can someone tell me if this is true or am I just tripping? Oh, and those of you experiencing crashes on an A1200. Are you using the WHDLoad version? I have not had a single problem with it, sorry if this advice comes too late. |

I've always played the original install on my A1200 and it's never ever crashed on me. The only problem has been when the little clock in the corner stops so I'm never sure what time it is I've never had to play the WHD version.
I might have another go today but it takes so long and even if you play for a couple of hours there's no guarantee of doing better. And speaking of which... last day of the round folks! |

Typical, I play all week and get nowhere, and now with 15 minutes left I have a game in progress, 7.5million points and 4 lives, 2 armours. I'll play ten more minutes and post the score, probably the game will still be in progress.
Edit: I'll post it now as there is no chance I'll get up to 16m in time. 7,843,910 |

No matter, it would have only been 14m anyway.

Hehe, similar thing just happened to me.
I got to level 50 (my best) and managed to get my best rank (4 red dots, I forgot the rank name), but was killed by the boss - the heat combined with sleepiness was my enemy. The score was 100,000 short of my best despite being a few levels further into the game. Just out of curiosity, how many levels are there? Regards, Lonewolf10 |

I think 75 levels and then it loops at increased difficulty.

You get a completion screen after Level 75.
