Any tips from the pros here? The only thing I can think of is memorising the entire route, and "cheating" on sharp corners by deliberately pointing into the opposite direction to the corner, hitting an opponent, and the game seems to bounce you the opposite way which would allow you go get around the corner. Does that even work reliably? Any other tips?

Yes, Ideally you need to play over and over to memorize the course. If you fall off once you'll struggle to get over 10 million. AVOID EVERYTHING by letting off the acceleration in the corners or by tapping brake to sneak past cpu riders getting a bit close. Most of the very tight corners (the ones that if you get wrong and if your on the outside creep round hitting the chevrons until you come out of it) can be entered at full speed on boost you just need to catch the inside line and flick the brake then hold the line without accelerationg until you can put the power back on (if that makes any sense) The nasty S corners in stages 3&5 were the ones which were costing me the most time and if you have to come OFF boost for stage 6 then you need more practice

Just to add. Wepl mentioned earlier around 25 million should be possible with a perfect run and i'd agree with that.

Cheers for the tips, I'll be needing them as I am useless at this game...

This game is stupid. Using brakes on the corners is futile because it does not help you to get to the internal side of the corner. What's more! When you are on the external side and drive so slow that the others are overtaking you, when accelerating a bit it makes you fall off the track! It seems like your speed is different from the opponents because they are going faster and can stay to the internal side while you are going slower and being on the external side can stay on the track. It looks like the only way to go through a sharp corner is to make it at full speed or keeping the speed stalled. I also don't like that the seconds which left from the finished checkpoint are not counted to the overall score. Maybe they are at the end of the game?

Correct, Upon completing stage 6 you get 1,000,000 for every second left over (you can only score over 500,000 within the 6 stages) the rest is a completion bonus

Every second left over during the whole race or during the last stage?

I don't know how to brake . I never brake. I control the speed only by gas.
Its also not necessary to learn the whole track (also impossible for the later courses I would say). But it is important to know some of the hard curves.

Very important is to avoid collisions with the other bikes. For that you should get a feeling how they drive and at which times they change the side for example. This way it is also possible many times to assume if the next curve is right or left.

All your seconds get carried over for every stage so after stage 6 it's whatevers left

Very cool run - and the quality is surprisingly good for a mobile! I think I will have to give up on this game, although I really like it - there are too many professionals here!

BTW one thing I have always found strange in racing games - on some tracks the corner goes left, you can either stay going straight ahead or turn right and your bike doesn't crash off the road! (Common bug in loads of racing games I realise, but still very amusing!)
