Hi Alfa,

It's coming together, but slowly.

I'm doing it on an A4 scanner and the pages are oversize. Each partial scan has to be perfectly aligned with the other parts and I'm having to stitch them together so that the joins will have minimal impact on the final result. It's like assembling a jigsaw puzzle, and trying not to separate the magazine pages is making it even more difficult. Plus, I don't have much time I can devote to this.

Please be patient and don't worry. This magazine collection is safe in my hands and I will get thee scans done for you and chiark even if it takes several months.

Hi prowler,
Sorry for the trouble that this work is giving to you and thanks for your efforts.
I will wait as long as it takes.

I could help if you want so the work could be faster.. Why you don´t only do make the scans and I do the stitch and at the end I upload the final work to the zone including other contiguous incomplete tutorials that I have already scanned?

That sounds like a plan. I saw that you had uploaded some AF scans to the Zone recently (though I haven't had time to look at them yet, unfortunately).

Let me think about how I can make the parts available to you. Do you have any special requirements for the scans?

I have to warn you that I'm very busy trying to complete the rescue of Glen Cumming's AlienBash code floppy disks at the moment, so I'm not sure when I will be able to resume work on the scans again, but what you have suggested might speed things up a bit when the time comes.

Thanks for your offer!

You´re welcome prowler
The only requirements are: do the scans with some quality and do the job so that we can stitch them after.
I´m now scanning some other tutorials from Amiga Computing that I have been buying and with your scans I think some of the courses are almost complete
The scans I updated to the zone have 2 complete courses (Arexx and C) and some other serious articles programming related

Hi prowler,
It´s possible for you to scan the the following courses from Amiga Computer magazines, please?
If you could, do make the scans and then I do the stitch.
BlitzBasic, C, Assembler and Amos from 103,106,107 and 108
Thanks in advance

Hi Alfa,
If I have those issues, then I will scan the articles for you.
I will check tomorrow.
To save time, I will start by sending you a single article to see if the result is suitable for you to use. Then, if it's okay, I'll carry on sending you further articles as I get them scanned.
Perhaps you could PM me your email address so that I can send them to you there.

Hi Alfa,

I have found my copies of Amiga Computing magazine 103 and 106-108. These issues have A4 size pages, so I will be able to scan a whole page at a time (no stitching required! ).

The relevant content of each magazine is as follows:

Issues 103 and 106: Amiga Guide pages on Assembler, Amos and Blitz Basic 2
Issue 107: Round up of popular C compilers and Amiga Guide pages on Assembler and Amos
Issue 108: C programming tutorial (Part 1) and Amiga Guide pages on Assembler and Amos

I will try to get a sample page scan (300 dpi okay?) sent to you on Monday or Tuesday of next week. If that's of acceptable quality, then I'll get the other pages off to you ASAP.

Sorry prowler, I was out the whole weekend and haven´t read your post
300 DPI it´s ok for me, if I can read the code it´s ok.
The round up of popular C compiler I have no need, I only want the BlitzBasic, Assembler, C and Amos tutorials.
Thanks very much

Thanks, Alfa. I'll get started on them tomorrow. Most, if not all, of the articles are just a single page, so it shouldn't take too long. And I'll make sure that everything can be read okay.
