Some lovely examples. It's easy to overlook how much was added to games by sampled speech especially, it was a relatively easy way to make you relate to the characters much more - and, of course, something that set the Amiga apart from earlier (and most contemporary pre-CDROM) rivals. A lot of the speech you theoretically wouldn't miss if it wasn't there (I'm not sure that someone owning these games for other systems without the speech would necessarily appreciate how enthusiastic we all are about it), but I think it helps make the games memorable.
Text too - if even something as relatively serious and dry as Civilization could manage a bit of quirkiness in the Civil Disorder mentioned, maybe some other games had no excuse. Off-topic, but the sampled speech and video for the advisors on PC Civ 2 (especially the Attitude Advisors) took things forward nicely too. |

What's that amiga game intro, at the end where it says "And that man is you" with a slight echo on the "you" part

"Great! I employ YOU to save me and what happens?" - Elvira mistress of the dark
followed by that Elvira speech i'm not really sure what she says should begin with "Hi i'm Elvira, and i do anything to get..." |

Pretty sure it's "Hi, I'm Elvira. Honey, I'd do anything to get out of here!"
Taken from the film but as I recall it's actually 3 different sentences spliced together. |

I remember the final boss of Assassin being what in italian call "bimbominkia" - a total brat that you touch once, he cries and run to get its megawalker (and you hear ignition sounds in the background)
