Yeah that was a great night!!.. loved it!... but i had to work today i got home at 3am which gave me only just over 2 hours sleep and i was 1 hour late for work ....

But brilliant night

@mihcael-: Yeah putting some faces to the names was great, especially the EAB guys as you said like Calgor, Nova Coder and the other guy i was talking to outside at the start of the night about blitter and CPU timing... you know who you are!.. whats your username on EAB again?

And of course, there was the amazing THB !!! ( for whom shall only redeem himself once he buys Python )

Yeah was a great night, good catching up with you guys and meeting some of you for the first time.

Big effort from mihcael and was it Jeff? 4 hour drive to make it down.

I took the day off today despite leaving early to go to bed.

I really need to practice more at stunt car racer.

Yep! that was a great night, havnt been to something like that in a very long time. It was also great to meet some of the EAB members and put faces to names, great bunch of guys

There was a good variety of systems on display, got to see OS4.0/4.1 for the first time in the flesh and was really impressed with the Minimig.

After doing something really stupid back in 2000 when I sold my A1200 060/50 for a very low price [Yes Blade I know, it was a dickhead act], I am back with a vengeance, I picked up my sexy new A1200 on the night thanks to NovaCoder who did a great job on the Miggy.

Thanks THB for the demo of the indivision early in the night and that joystick of yours was pretty damn good (cant think of the name of Joystick), I almost beat my Little Ramp time for SCR, I only played 2 hot laps, better than the cordless shit I've been using.

All up it was great and I must try to make it to another meet in future.

Be my guest dude, PM me your email address and I will email the raw pics from the camera instead of the (No doubt) reduced Imageshack images.

It turns out that Beatrice (pictured above with the minimig) is not quite the old hag she looks!!

With the a590 connected i get...

1 MB Chip
2 MB Other mem (edit - 1.5MB maybe?)
Kickstart 2.0
2 partitions 600MB and 800MB

Workbench 2.? installed

Not bad for a freebie!!

Townsville is nearly Far North Queensland, you 2 should start one together if there are none around!

Sent, I hope Hotmail has matured enough to actually receive them. (3x1.5MB images).

At least with the raw images, you can resize them any way you wish to fit the required space on web.

Was great to meet all you guys too. Was a pretty fun meeting.

Blade, I am waiting to hear what goes on with the musicmaking. The syntax guys had some interesting things to say, and I thought their own music was quite good.

I too went to work pretty late the next day, but I start late anyway. I think some of the guys who didn't have to work the next day would have stayed there all night if the could!

OS4 on the AmigaOne is faster than I remember it. I thought Vista was quite good until I started accidentally closing windows as the first one takes so long to close and the window closing delay is perfectly timed so my second click closes the window behind Also, when Vista shuts down it closes apps without asking if you want to save your work....... nice.

===============================
SYNTAX DEMO PARTY 2008!
Australia's largest coding, gfx
and music tracking party for
Oldskool & nuskool platforms
www.syntaxparty.org
===============================

Come to MAUG and see the party crew in action for an exclusive special
treat for MAUG members not to be seen anywhere else! Just back from
overseas and we managed to secure a booking for our break-up. Are we good
to you or what! You've not seen such an exclusive since the days of the
CUAmiga and AmigaFormat coverdisk demos I bet! And that retro feeling will
keep on flowing at MAUG.

I wish someone had sent me a copy of this before I turned up almost COMPLETELY unprepared! (For those of you who don't know I am one of the Syntax Party Crew or System Of Sound Organization). I didn't realize we were the main event until I was in Chris' studio arguing with a dying A1200. I would have brought my second (or even my third) A1200 as well.

We were planning to show everyone the playlist of demos we were playing at BeachParty, but my old A1200 decided that it had had enough abuse LESS THAN AN HOUR before we were due to entertain you all. Oh well, is my face red or what!?

Anyway. Greets to all the cool people I met at the MAUG break-up (that would of course be all of you). For sure I'll be paying my membership and you'll be seeing me and my A1200 and my (at the moment incomplete) Efika/MorphOS system early Feb.

oh, and don't forget that the Melbourne Oldschool Demoscene now has a new home at http://www.systemofsound.org/ - but we are all on holidays right now so don't expect to see much until mid-Jan.

If you make art on or for vintage computer systems and live in Victoria. Then we would like to showcase some of your work on our site. Visit the site for contact details.

CYA.
