I'm packaging the SDL framework inside the application bundle in my builds. IMHO the average user shouldn't have to download and install SDL themselves... or even know it exists.

I believe that these autogenerated files should be removed from the repo as well:

Thanks

I hope, I understand the previous post:

I think the (main)goal of PUAE is, like E-UAE, to bring the features of WinUAE to other platforms.

well if you want to go out of your way to add some kind of multi-platform game-sharing / kaillera-like netplay function to it Wicked_Digger, i dont think anyone will stand in your way

also a comprehensive GUI for the OSX version (instead of Hi-Toro) would be nice!

edit: SCSI emulation never worked (and thus no CD32 emulation) on E-UAE for OSX.... does anyone think this is likely to be fixed in PUAE?

That would already be an awesome achievement for non-Windows users.
Anyway, it's very nice that you want to contribute.

If the 'known' utf-8 problem you're referring to is the one mentioned in this thread (about post #8) then that's not the problem. I sent GnoStiC a fix for that one a week or so ago (it was a memory deallocation error, took forever to find.)

This is a different problem, and it has nothing to do with utf-8. I see bizarre behavior with filesystem mounts. For example, when I try to view a text file from such a mount it sometimes doesn't work, as though the file is empty or doesn't exist anymore. This happens from both the command line and when double clicking the file in workbench. Unfortunately I don't get any console messages related to this, so it's hard to get a handle on where the problem might be.

I believe I'm building using the same configure options as GnoStiC - I'm using everything in bronx_.sh plus some others. I don't really know much about these features.. they can't be activated in the uaerc file?

PS: I'm interested in "maintaining" the FreeBSD portability for PUAE - is that of any interest for you ?

I've already got a diff against your latest master head/trunk that will make PUAE compile and run on FreeBSD 8.1-RELEASE

How would you like me to send these diff's (4 files around 20-30 lines) ?
Private email ? or through forum attachments ?

Thanks in advance

Kind regards Uffe :-)

PUAE compatibility patches for FreeBSD (8.1-STABLE)

Ok, I'll go for weekend in an hour or so and I'll propably not be able to go online for most of the weekend - so I'll just post the patches public in this forum...

I can confirm that PUAE builds *and* runs on FreeBSD 8.1-STABLE with this patch... well it can start a workbench - haven't had time to do much more/other testing...

/Uffe :-)
