I know this is a CF thread, but:
Adata 16GB Turbo Series SDHC (Class 6) working fine with IDE-SD adapter. Note that adapter specifically says it supports bootable mode, sdhc, master/slave and ultra dma etc. More expensive adapter than CF, but cheaper memory cards. |

I have a general question.
I am planning to "reanimate" my old A1200. I want to add a CF-card as a HDD via IDE 2.5 to CF card Adapter. Meanwhile its known to me (after reading this thread), that i have to choose CF cards, which are confirmed to work with the Amiga, and now is my question: Can i use for the Amiga almost every IDE 2.5 to CF card Adapter, which are available in various Online-shops. |

Their no reason why you can't go beyond 4 gig. Just make sure you have AmigaOS 3.9 'Amiga OS ROM Update' in DEVS: and you haven't added SKIPROMUPDATES to Setpatch line. DirectSCSI version of PFS 3 should let you get beyond the 4 gig barrier too, as will IDEFix. I suspect though the larger the capacity of card used, the slowly the seek time to load files (particularly with larger files) being solid state memory as apposed to using a "real hard disk". Anyone want to benchmark with aminet version of diskspeed to see if I'm right? :-)

To stay on topic: I'm using the Sandisk 4gb ultra 2, and it works via IDE-CF adapter. Last edited by DoneYone; 03 August 2009 at 18:24. Reason: Forgot something. |

I have one of these Kingston x133 8gb size on my ide-cf adapter and works fine. Using bliz IV and CSA 12 gauge accelerators. Partitioned in two.

It works fine with a Sandisk Ultra 2 GB CF card and a Sandisk Extreme 2 GB CF card. The accelerator is also PCMCIA friendly. It can take up to 128 MB RAM and it doesn't conflict with the PCMCIA slot. See this thread:http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=41637 Anyway, IMO Sandisk cards are the most compatible. Last edited by Mozzerfan; 19 August 2009 at 22:20. |

I can't test it myself, cause I don't have any highspeed Kingston cards. I only have Sandisk cards, and this works for me on all my amigas (with and without accellerator card). |
