Yeah I have my reservations about FF7 remake which makes me hesitate to get it, especially at the ludicrous prices it is sold under. It looks and sounds absolutely gorgeous and the characters are a lot better fleshed out but the battles seem tedious. And ultimately... it's the same story beats.

I just played the first hour of the Alone in the Dark remake and while it pretty much only matching the setting of the original game it does start very interesting. The music is outstanding and I love that the horror elements are not at all jump scare-ish. There's a certain Lovecratian vibe to things that I'm looking forward to get to know better.

It was also not that essential in the original game until much later, like end of disc 2 late, where you could start to setup the really broken chains. Until that point I would myself rely mostly on healing and enemy skill materia. Usually just firing off matra magic, trine or beta enemy skills for quick damage over and over. It was a really complex system that I sorely miss in other Final Fantasy games, but a little under-developed in the early to mid game.

I haven't really played much Amiga for a while but I Finally! setup a UAE on Android with an AGS compilation and I'm loving it.
The UAE4arm on screen.controller is a bit shit but I'm getting use to it - it does need improving. But the Amiga had a fantastic library of games. I know people are always moaning about this and that but there really is a fantastic selection of games. So what am I playing - I spent hours on Gods, Magic Pockets, Chaos Engine, Lotus 2, Lemmings just to name a few. |

Ok but you have to wonder why on a system with over 4k games you again resorted to the ones everyone has played a thousand times already You're moaning in silence like that.

I'm biased always loved my emulation etc
But I think on Mobile devices Amiga emulation gets overlooked compared to other systems - but you get something like MegaAGS on your phone and there are hundreds of Amiga Gems. But like I say the on-screen controller for UAE4arm stinks - which doesn't help. |

completed FF7 remake
the last part, what a mess, story and battles talking more than 10 bosses battles almost in a row, wtf my personal judge, a 7 out of 10 game, overall not a milestone, and a lot distant from what i like in a jrpg style game great gfx and cinematics, but the dungeons/battle system is not my cup of tea in this remake |

Dragon Quest 11. Absolute stunner (it's not often anymore that when I boot a game for the first time I say "damn!" in otherwise stunned silence) but as I feared... its easier than usual entries in the series. Which reduces the need for grinding that jRPGs are known for, but it also makes it more of a walk in the field simulator. Dragon Quest 8 and 9 are hard to beat, but also hard to complete.
Still has a good story though, as per usual. |

Almost done with the Cat Quest on Steam (if not playing MewGame+ for the achievements). Pretty cute and well executed adventure game.
It has few funny not very hidden refferences to other rpgs. And...cats....lots and lots of cats. |

TCD, perhaps you're allergic to cats? Playing CQ2 will make you sneeze all the time?!
